Seeing children growing at daycare makes my heart break because once they start, they are really shy or nervous because they are used to being home with either one of their parents or guardians. Once they are used to coming to daycare daily, we see them grow, we watch them get along with others, we see them talk daily to one another. Seeing the children do their work and finishing them is a memorable one for me because they were shy first time they came to daycare. We tell their parents how they’re day went and show them what they do during their stay at daycare, we have an app about what they had throughout the day. What time they went to sleep and wake up. Showing their parents what they do at daycare. Seeing parents make improvement at home, parents telling us what they like to do. What they like to eat or not, we try to convince them to try different food.

Holly

This photo was taken in December, 2025. During our holiday trip to Arviat. He wanted to see how tall he is now when he saw the measuring tape, every now and then he likes to check his height and how much he’s grown. He has developed how to grow and make friends, during our time in Arviat he had so much fun experiencing new things, making new friends and learning Inuktitut. Some days like the other day he asked me, “Mom, remember my friends pj in Arviat? I really miss him. Can we go back to Arviat soon?” He developed memories and brings it up sometimes.

Janaya Angelina

Before they’re graduating we can show both parents and guest how much progress the child had made.

We can also send parents picture through the app called Lillio, send pictures to the parents with a description, with this app as a parent you should be able to save the pictures to your phone.

We can also have one Friday a month or every couple months of “show and tell” to show parents their children’s progress and how much the children have been growing and developing with their work.

-Hillary
