The music is just like a crowd: sleepy at first, calm and ignorant of all the wrongs done to them by the government, and then (slowly) it starts rising, exploding in the end. Only once you listen to the lyrics though (I suggest not looking them up on internet), you truly get the meaning of the song: it's a call for rebellion. It spurs us to think about our history, about what winning really means; it's about letting your past mean something to us, it almost pleads us not to forget it.

Indeed this song was written by John Deacon for the women's liberation movement. Then It became a hymn  for the political movement that drew on the ideas of Nelson Mandela.
