Simply because at those ages it's already hard to hold their attention so by overloading them with technology I think It could distract them a lot more and they won't be able to focus. I get it girl! Technology is overtaking much of our world today, and that can be good or bad. It just depends on your perspective. I think that it is up to you as the teacher. You know how much time you and your students will be productive using technology. You will know the line once you know your students. The more you use technology within your classroom, the more you know your limits.
