Hubert de Givenchy created the iconic 'Balloon coat' and the 'Baby Doll' dress in 1958.
In 1969, a men's line was also launched. From 1976 through 1983.

The House of Givenchy was split in 1981, with the perfume line going to Veuve Clicquot while the fashion branch was acquired by LVMH in 1989. As of today, LVMH owns Parfums Givenchy as well.

In October 201I4, an exhibition featuring 95 of his designed pieces took place at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.

So the first step was finding out what animals are associated with winter and Christmas. I decided to go for penguins and Reindeer. I collected some reference material. Next step was making a few quick sketches and deciding what I wanted to create them on. I thought gift tags were a good start because I could draw my sketches onto these.

I was able to produce more simplified versions of my designs. Because some of the materials I had chosen to work on were a bit hard to create a lot of details on. For example the glitter cards and the Christmas tree decor. 

I was not very happy with the results because I did not spend enough time making proper sketches on the materials. Because of this only some designs look good out of the whole batch. I need to work on that a bit more to prevent sloppy outcomes and improve the quality of my work.

So as I said the sketches can be improved so I have a better sense of composition before I start putting all my designs onto the final piece. I was a bit too eager to get things done and this reflects in my work. To prevent this from happening I must pay attention to what I am doing and how I am going to do this. After that it is just a case of time management so I can get things done without rushing it. 

I enjoyed that we could decide completely on our own how to manege this project. It was fun to work with so many different materials and learn how to put things together. Also doing all the sketches was a great way to get all my ideas out so I could get started as soon as possible.

I think I have improved on finding out my work process flaws. I tend to start rushing my designs and my process does not have a logical order. So during the project I have a point where I do not know what I am doing anymore. So I will start writing down what I have to do and what I have completed like a checklist. So I can manege my time better.

By learning how to manege my time I will be able to do projects without rushing and producing more quality instead. And by making a checklist for myself I will be able to clarify what I am doing more easily. Then if I don't understand something I will be able to determine better what to ask help for and what I can sort out on my own.
