         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've been participating in the SID only for two years. This year, 5th grade students had to analyze a case in groups and then create a script and movie using iPads, after that we did an award ceremony with each group.<br>4th grade students watched different videos and situations and they "graded" in a thermometer drawing if the case was something that would make them happy or sad if that would happen to them, debate was ignited with each video. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Intro: I would present the following link: <a href="https://uroom.wordpress.com/2008/08/25/el-himno-nacional-mexicano-no-es-de-mexico/">https://uroom.wordpress.com/2008/08/25/el-himno-nacional-mexicano-no-es-de-mexico/</a><br>Basically the article reads that the Mexican hymn belongs to the US and we have to pay every time that is played outside the country.<br><br>Debate: I will start asking questions about how they fill with the article and if they think it is true.<br><br>Research: in teams the students would search for information to convince themselves and other people that the article is false. Each team represents and investigates one aspect of the CRAP model and would write the evidence in post-it´s. In order for the kids to know what exactly to look, I would provide them with specific questions related to the concepts of the CRAP model.<br><br>Conclusions:<br>Using the board and organizing the post-it's, students will review the 4 aspects and concepts to identify fake news.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>How can media literacy contribute to a participatory culture?<br><br>Communication is a very important part of our condition as social beings, we see communication as a tool to build bridges towards new goals. Media Literacy can be widely used in order to reinforce communication between people with a common goal. In Mexico during the earthquake disaster last year the population of the city were instantly in mobilized through a big quantity of groups in different social media which led to rescue groups, donation of food and social support. One specific example in my city Queretaro, was a group of Pokemon Go players, which organized a donation event with all the players and communities they knew, they actually drove the donation directly to the Mexico city and posted pictures during the trip (since there was a common distrust feeling towards the government).<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At my school Cyberbulling is becoming more complex, one case in particular was about a whatsapp group from kids were they posted pictures and messages that tend to be annoying for other kids. The main problem is that the school has a mobile devices zero policy at school, also it is forbidden to any minor of 13 years old to have any kind of social media account, we can´t do anything unless one kid says something to any authority. The only thing that we can do in this cases is to send an e-mail to parents reminding them the rules of our school but parents are neglecting this and they are actually doing formal complains about cyberbullying when we the school has made very clear that it is forbidden that a minor has a social media account.<br> </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I sincerely think that it doesn´t reduce the quantity of cases of cyberbullying but it definitely prepares our students to defend themselves against these cases. The simple fact of giving it a name and recognizing its existence promotes a feeling of empathy towards kids that are not involved in the cases and a feeling of security and relation for those that are the objective of cyberbullying. Students learn emotional tools in order to ignore or respond to this cases and they don´t feel alone and defenseless any more.  Also I think it is not only useful for cyberbullying but also for real life experiences.</div>]]></description>
