Students are prompted to come up with an idea and discuss it with the person sitting next to them. A disadvantage is that you cannot elicit evidence from a verbal conversation.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Concentric circles</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Concentric circles involve students forming two circles or two lines and facing each other. Teachers will pose a question and students stand in pairs to discuss their response. Once complete, students on the outside (or inside) move one space to the right so they are standing in front of a new person. From here, the teacher poses a new question and the process is repeated. This could be used in stage 5 as a revision or summary when discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the applications of biotechnology, including social and ethical considerations. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Ongoing Conversations</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students are to converse with a minimum of 75% of their class over 2-3 weeks about a particular topic. Each conversation will be noted with a quick one sentence summary of each conversation supplied by the students. This method would be particularly useful when covering an area which students may or may not already have some knowledge. i.e. When discussing how to plan, investigate and write up experiments, some students may have knowledge in one area, where another student is stronger elsewhere. This would allow students to collaborate and pass this knowledge/ skills onto individuals they converse with in the near future. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Gallery Walk</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This strategy ls relatively new to me and was interesting to look into. This strategy breaks students into groups where they create a piece of work together on a topic, this could be a poster or another creative medium. After it is completed the students are given numbers and broken up into new groups, with correct design in the new groups there will be one student from each previous group. They will then rotate around the work and explain their own when they come to it for the other students.</div>]]></description>
