Doing so I ended up expressing my emotion through the painting. After i was done i had calmed down and stopped being upset.

It is time consuming if you enjoy what you are painting, you can go on for hours. I take my time when painting, so it keeps me from being bored.

If you were to do nothing it makes your brain just lazy and not always using your skills. I read something once that said using your creative side can also boost your memory skills so you have a less chance of memory loss when older. The reason for that is as when you paint you have artistic freedom which helps you retain and remember that information so it helps your memory. I personally suck at remembering things although I still suck at remembering things.
