         <description><![CDATA[<div>The meat packing process, for example the casing of sausages, include many toxic substances that are a massive concern. Some of the substances include ammonia (NH3) and nitrate (NO3) which should not be consumed under any circumstances. These come from the fecal waste in the earlier stages of processing. As well some of the other traces of chemicals come from the inside parts of the intestine. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that this is more profitable to prevent pollution from happening in the earlier stages of processing. If they put in devices that help take out the waste, at first it may be a bit more expensive to start up but, in the end everything will even out because of the money the companies will save from not having to separate the waste from the discharged water. As well the damage of taking the waste out after processing could be much more harmful to the environment and wildlife because it could go into the water and the air.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For example when the meat processing industry started to collect the intestines separately they reduce the amount for ammonia and nitrate by 16,000 kg, process waste by 190 tonnes and the water waste by 4,000 tonnes per year. It did take a bit more money to implement these procedures at first but it did positively impact the industry by saving them 43,000 dollars with a payback of 7 months. It may seem like a lot of money at first but it is a very good investment or the future that not only companies will make back, they will also benefit and make surplus of money looking in the long term without harming the environment.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> The Ontario government is requiring facilities to publicly report on their plan to reduce the use of toxic chemical and substances. This will help the companies to want to go green because they will continuously get bad press when they say they are not doing anything to help reduce the use of these substances. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>
