1. Our own unique perceptual filters such as knowledge, experiences, ethnicity, and so on, as well as other stimuli from our surroundings are the interferences mentioned in the video. These two can disrupt the conversation.

2. One of the problems that I have encountered is that when the person I am trying to have a conversation with talks over me and does not let me finish what I have to say. To solve it, I let her finish first and then continue what I am about to say. I also told her to not talk over me as it becomes annoying over time.

3. Yes, I have. I try to exercise them everyday. For example, I had a conversation with someone regarding a sensitive topic a few weeks ago. We have different views and opinions about it so it took a while before it ended. Fortunately, he was a good communicator and approached it objectively. As for me, my emotions get the best of me sometimes but at that moment I reminded myself that I should not take it too personally as we are only having a small discussion. I tried to understand and see from his perspective before I tell him my own opinions. Although, I hated to admit it, he had points that I agreed on as well. It was a long conversation but it ended well without us having a fight.

1. Both internal and external factors can easily interfere with how we communicate. Internal factors include our own personal perceptions and biases of the world, while external factors include noisy environments or the lack of one of our senses used to communicate.

2. The most common communication problem I have is the language barrier. My first language is English, so I default to it when communicating with someone. Usually, if I want to speak to someone who isn't well-versed in English I have to choose between using simpler English terms than I would usually pick, or slowly parsing out something in Filipino that I hope would convey what I want to say.

3. Yes I have. I have the tendency to drown out noises around me as white noise when I'm working on something. Unfortunately, sometimes conversations end up washing over me because I thought it to be just white noise. But earlier this week while trying to comfort a friend after a devastating event happened, I forced myself to give them my whole attention. It was the least I could do since they lived too far away for me to be able to do anything else. They really appreciated me being there and felt much better about everything afterward.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

The video mentioned internal and external factors which can interfere in the communication process. Internal factors include our personal perceptual filters (such as one’s knowledge, experiences, age, gender, race, ethnicity, or family background), the kind of relationship we have with the person we are communicating with, and our unique understanding of the message. Environmental noise, on the other hand, and any other surrounding stimuli that can distract us are examples of external interferences to effective communication.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

One of the challenges I have encountered in terms of communicating is that I used to not look directly into the eyes of the person I was having a conversation with since I am more comfortable that way. A friend of mine pointed this out and mistakenly thought that I was not paying attention to what she was saying, when in fact I was able to fully understand everything she meant – it is just that I prefer to listen only with my ears. Since then, I taught myself to listen intently with both my eyes and ears in order to prevent further misunderstandings and, thus, have more meaningful conversations.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes, I have used some of the solutions mentioned in the video as I strive to facilitate effective communication as much as I can. I always make sure to listen attentively and engage actively with every conversation I take part in, using verbal and non-verbal cues. I also acknowledge that our subjective lenses can significantly affect how we communicate, so I constantly remind myself to be open to the views of others, try to understand them as I want to be understood, and instigate appropriate interactions considering our individual differences.

What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Electrical noise is the unwanted signal that obstructs or distorts the desired signal. The communication interferences mentioned in the video are internal and external factors. Anything occurring inside the transactor's body that distracts is referred to as internal noise. Physical in nature, external noise. While transactors' bodies contain internal noise, the outer environment also contains external noise. Loud music, voices, sirens, and other distracting noises frequently cause us to lose focus on the message at hand. A potent form of ambient noise is smell.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

We frequently don't give someone our complete attention when we are interacting with them. We could be scrolling through our phones, watching television, or simply daydreaming. It is necessary to offer the speaker our full attention in order to avoid communication blunders. Making eye contact, seeking clarification, and maintaining interest are all examples of effective listening techniques.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?

1.) What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

The informative video acknowledged that both internal and external inferences can hinder the concept of the communication process since they can affect the interpretation of the sender and receiver during a conversation. As mentioned, external stimuli are the interference we tend to face in environments such as noise, extreme temperatures, crowded places, etc. While internal stimuli include the individual's gender, self-knowledge, understanding, concentration, and interpretation which can greatly influence the flow of conversation between the communicators.

2.) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

As a college student, I am aware that miscommunication is a product of communication and for that, the challenges that I experience are more of how I let my emotions get the best of me which affects my response to a particular circumstance or conversation. Thus, I try to attentively set aside my emotions and think first about how to process and respond in order to have an effective conversation. This gave me the capability to address issues in a direct and careful manner.

3.) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Indeed, I have used these solutions since I encounter various individuals every day. Not only do I actively listen and comprehend the desired message from the receiver but I make sure that I am fully engaged in both views of the conversation to be able to send honest feedback since I seek to have meaningful social interactions with every person I communicate with. This will benefit both sides of the communicators in terms of avoiding any forms of miscommunication.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

As I watched and listened to the video the comunication interferences that mentioned in the video is the unique perception of each person, knowledge, their past experiences, age, race, their religion and other internal stimuli. As well as the environmental noises that we can here for example traffic noise and growling of stomach. This both can lead to miscommunication.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

Maybe my constant experience is that when someone talks to me, sometimes I get distracted by what I'm seeing or sometimes when someone talks to me, someone suddenly greets me that leads to my distraction and I make the person talking to me repeat what they say. him and because I'm not too focused on him, sometimes I misinterpret what he's saying. And then, I realized that because of my actions I didn't understand him so what I did is whenever there are people talking to me I don't just listen but I tend to make eye contact or my eyes are just focused on his particular face so I don't get distracted by other people.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes. As I've said in question no. 2 I tend to make eye contact already, I do not just listen with ears but I gave all my full attention to be able to understand then and prevent miscommunication. And I remember the part in the video that says "listen with your eyes and ears, as well as with your gut. Remember that communication is more than just words".

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?
It possesses internal and external disturbances since they are undesired signals that propagate along communication systems. Disturbances can interfere with communication at any time, whether it comes from the outside/physical state or the inside/mental state of a communicator.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?
There are certain times that I somehow get into awkward conversations because of the delay. Mostly, I am not the initiator of a conversation as I get too shy and not sure of what to say even though I want to express myself which explains why sometimes the miscommunication problem I have is delayed responses. Over time, I choose not to think too much of technicalities in a conversation, especially when I am only communicating with my close relatives and friends.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.
Certainly, as quoted in the video, "Take time to understand as you try to be understood." As I struggle from time to time with communicating how I technically say my ideas or advice back, I try not to rush by expressing myself since I know what the person I've communicated with will feel if I did. Communication must take people time to process, be open, and express themselves properly.

1.) What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?
- As mentioned in the video, the communication interferences may be both internally and externally. By internally, one person may have their own interpretation of words while the other person have otherwise. A person's own perception of age, race, ethnicity and religion can also influence the flow of communication. External interferences such as background noises (ex. loud noises) can create a barrier between the sender and the receiver thus creating a miscommunication.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?
- As someone who often struggles with understanding what people say to me, and at the same time struggling to speak to people in a fluid way due to my social anxiety, I can say that I have encountered a lot of miscommunications because of that. I always needed people to repeat what they say to me, otherwise I wouldn't have any idea about what they've said. I've also dealt with a lot of people saying that I talk too quietly or talk too fast because of my nervousness. When people notice my struggle, they try to talk slowly and clearly so I can fully understand and vice versa.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?
- Yes. Even if communicating is something I still struggle with, I try my best to fully express my thoughts so I never have to encounter miscommunications which can also influence my relationship with people.

According to the video presented, us individuals cannot help but to send and receive messages through our own subjective lenses. We create and have our own interpretations of the messages we send and receive — and because of that subjectivity, it can cause some miscommunications. Miscommunication can also happen because of one’s personal perceptions, such as age, race, gender, religion, culture, emotions, and the relationship one has with each other — all of which can cloud an individual’s understanding.

I had take out food that I was saving for the next day and I explicitly told my brother that it is mine and he should not eat it, unless I offer him. The next day comes by and my brother asked me if I would like it if he cook me food, as he told me that he ate my food. I was furious, because in my perspective, he ate my take out food — only for me to find out three day later that the food he was talking about was a different dish. Unfortunately, as my brother is a stubborn person, even though I said sorry for the miscommunication and tried to fix the situation , he still continued to berate me.

Me and my significant other, just like any couples, have fought due to miscommunication. Two of the mentioned solutions in video are the ones that me and my partner often practice when we argue — we listen and understand, we take the time to explain each other, and if not understood, we explain it over and over again. One of our problems in the past is the lack of open mindedness and understanding, which leads me overthinking and or reach to a conclusion, that is different to what my partner is really trying say.

1. The communication interferences mentioned in the video are the undesired signals that disrupt the communication. Like when two people are talking together the noise around them can disrupt their communication that can lead to misunderstanding, noise of traffic, and concurrently loud voices of the speaker and the listener. Another is when the speaker does not convey the message clearly and the listener has poor listening skills, lack of concentration, and uninterested.

2.Personally, I have encountered so many miscommunications with other people I'm talking to like when i'm telling something such as stories, a thing that happened in my day, a rant of a problem, or explaining something i have noticed that most of them misunderstand me or likewise i misunderstood them. Most of the time this happens because sometimes it can be in your actions, the way you speak, how you express your emotions, the way of your delivery, or when the message is not properly conveyed. The things that i did to prevent and avoid this miscommunication is to be clear with what i say and be concise, ask questions to be sure, be specific, be a good speaker as well as an active listener while expressing yourself better.

3. Yes, I have employed several of the suggestions made in the film. For instance, it was noted there that active listening differs from passive hearing. passive hearing is like multi-tasking an example of this is when you're at school having a discussion with your professor and suddenly you realize that later on you have a short exam in the next subject of your class. While having discussions you think more of the short exam that's why you didn't understand your professor's discussion because your focus is on the next subject of your class. Active listening is a skill that will help you comprehend what you are saying more clearly.

What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

The communication interferences mentioned in the video denoted both external and internal factors. External stimuli posit variables that use the senses (e.g., background noise, distractions) while internal stimuli denote variables such as knowledge, past experiences, gender, religion, etc., that ultimately affect how the communication process would render. Miscommunication, as tackled in the video, may occur when an individual gets dominated by his/her subjective interpretation. Perceptual filters basically impede people from understanding the other person’s point of view. Other problems discussed in the video include not giving people full attention when they talk, allowing oneself to process the content of the message, and forgetting that communication is a two-way street.

Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

The communication interferences I usually encounter include the following: 1. Forgetting to use euphemisms, 2. Compromising often to let the other person dominate the conversation, 3. My perceptual filters heighten whenever I know a topic well; thus, I can be rigid with rebuttals, 4. I am insensitive sometimes, particularly to ending conversations when I deem it trivial. For the first communication dilemma, I resolved it by being more careful with my words and trying my best to use euphemisms, especially considering the context of the conversation. Moreover, I also researched on alternative words that I could use, as having sensitivity is a crucial aspect of communication. For the second communication barrier, I resolved it by calmly sharing with the other interlocutor a communication strategy I call "one, two, three." One, means that I will act as a listener in our conversation; Two, means that I will listen and give my opinion on the topic at hand; Three means that I will listen and share a proposed solution regarding the topic. In addition, I found this strategy helpful since I could cater to the needs of the interlocutor I am talking with, as well as pursue a cohesive action plan before, during, and after the conversation. For the third problem, I strive to listen openly and understand the other communicator, even if I deem it wrong due to my prior knowledge of the topic. If the other communicator is open to correction, then that would be the time that I can share my ideas and not impose them. For the fourth communication dilemma, I often remind myself of the personality differences and topic preferences in daily conversations. Even though I do not like the topic at hand, or it may seem too trivial, I can relay my thoughts more courteously than just shunning the other communicator because of it.

1. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

· Yes. Having a proper and fluent conversation is a crucial part of life. While miscommunications are inevitable, the solutions in the video catered to my daily dilemmas in communication. For instance, I concur that active listening is important, as it conveys full attention, acknowledgment of thoughts, and being present for the other communicator. Another solution posits awareness of one’s perceptual filters influenced me to become more sensitive and context-appropriate when other people share. Moreover, knowing that communication is a two-way street, a transactional event that requires feedback, solidified in me that I should strive to contribute meaningful insights and not be a passive and stagnant communicator. All the solutions suggested in the video reminded me that while miscommunication is inevitable, it can be corrected and improved over time.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

The interferences mentioned in the video could be from the communicators themselves or the environment where their communication have taken place. An example of the “internal” interference which communicators may encounter, is the perceptual filter which means interpreting information with the influences of different factors including past experiences and culture. The video had also mentioned that communicators can be distracted to other stimuli, which may be from the environment - traffic and loud crowd conversations are examples.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

There are times when I have problems in hearing which makes me have difficulty in understanding what people are trying to say. This especially becomes a problem when in crowded places with loud noises. I do not want the people I am conversing with feel like I am not interested with what they are trying to say, which is why as much as possible I try to ask them to repeat what they are saying so I would understand. Sometimes I had to ask them to hold on the thought and we continue the conversation when we are in a much comfortable place with less noises, to make the conversation clearer and understandable.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Based on my answer on the second question, I believe I have been practicing solution number 1 (passive hearing and active listening are not the same) and 2 (take time to understand as you try to be understood). I have been suggesting continuing a conversation to a more peaceful place which is quieter because I can listen more actively there. I want to make the people I am with feel like I am also taking my time listening and understanding their stories.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Scenarios mentioned in the video tells us that circumstances, of different forms can lead to miscommunication. First is the difference in perception or understanding that eventually lead to disappointment when you the speaker and the one your are talking to does not meet halfway what you are expecting him/her to be. Second is the lack of interest and focus that could possibly caused by different reasons; either they are tired, bored, they have short attention span, or they are mentally dealing with an issue out of their physical control. Third is the natural involvement of emotions, to a point that it gets in your way of communicating with others. And last are the inevitable environmental factors including noise and distractions.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

One of the most common issue I would encounter when communicating is when we differ with interpreting the situation. This would usually happen when I am talking to either a friend or a family member about a happy experience but their response would either be angry, sad and vice versa. It would later end up in discussion that I would eventually avoid and be concluded with "ah bahala kayo!". Fortunately I already went passed that phase. I was able to resolve it by making my points precise and providing disclaimers as I am telling my version of the story, making it clear it is how I understood the situation and I acknowledge the possibility of a different interpretation for the other party.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

"Take time to understand as you try to be understood".
As I became more aware of properly communicating I would always remind myself to be patient and compassionate when talking to others, be it someone who is close to me or a stranger. I bear in mind that we vary in all forms so I should never expect that there is someone who thinks and perceives exactly like me. Communication is a constant reminder to me to live ground level.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?
  - Firstly, it was mentioned that everyone has their own interpretation to a certain message
that can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. External factors includes background noises, feedbacks or
distractions that may delay the message from the sender while Internal stimuli affects how they
would understand your message in terms of knowledge, religion or their experiences, these things
will affect on how they perceive your message.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?
  - The problem I usually encounter when I communicate is that when I receive the message I am
impatient to read the whole paragraph and I react as soon as I finish only half of the message
that leads to me saying the wrong thought, reactions or advice to that person. I listen to react and
not to understand. Also, when someone is talking I tend to finish their sentence unconsciously
because in my head I think that I know what their next line is that sometimes is not nice
since it interrupts them.

3.

1. What is the communication interference mentioned in the video?

External and internal noises were both mentioned as interference. One of them is physical such as adding more people into the conversation which makes it harder to decode the message passing through and other possible stimuli on their surroundings that can cause disruptions. Any stimuli that affect the source and receivers from within, the video describes as a lump of clay that gets a pass around each time they communicate in where the communicators mold their interpretations of things and lack of concentration due to personal reason (cultural, psychological, physiological, semantic, and more).

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? In fixing this, I just simply tune myself back into the communication and take whatever information is left, holding into my gut feeling.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Miscommunication is the failure to communicate effectively due to distractions and it can cause a lot of misunderstandings resulting in emotional rage, cutting ties with someone, physical fighting, and many more to discuss. Even if they speak the same language, face-to-face, it can still happen because we, sometimes, can’t tone down our own perceptional filters that might result in misunderstanding. There are two types of communication interference discussed in the video: Internal and External Interference. Internal Inference is when both speaker’s experience, age, race, ethnicity, religion, and family’s belief can strongly affect the way they perceived the messages word by word while External Inference is focus more likely to the ‘Physical’ distractions that can disturb the communication cycle such as loud noises etc.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered?
