Nature is powerful but sometimes men, or in this case, one woman can be almost equally powerful when it comes to protecting what one loves the most. It is due to a single person's courage that that wonderful waterfall is still present today. Chapeau!

Today I see the sign of separation.
Begun with an interesting lecture, beginning with information about Baruch de Spinoza, a Dutch philosopher, abandoning the views of the Church.
Then the Silfra Column, which annually separates Europe from North America by 7mm. What is the political separation since Trump's chaos policy?
And not least my photographic problem that I had to part with the incredible vastness of the Icelandic landscape. As soon as I pressed on the trigger of my camera, not even my super wide angle was nearly able to capture that effect of the landscape.

I tried to get used to that life can be unpredictable just as nature is. Sometimes it’s hard not to trust in stable procedures and fixed familiar routines but hey that is life! It’s an adventure, every day new challenges, surprises. So some things can become routine and some issues are new to be discovered. And that is actually what makes it worth it to be here and live the life given.... experience nature’s inescapable forces and cope with the daily surprises.

But in total this was a day of stable nature conditions and even weather so amazingly merciful and great which was not to be foreseen...The only slight unpredictable thing es the schedule of the Geysir‘s fountain but still it was predictable that it will its way out somehow and somewhen. Surprise!

Today I felt like being on another planet! The landscape changed so quickly! The icelandic people really know how to use their geothermal power! The tomato greenhouse in the middle of nowhere was amazing! Thanks to a brave woman we could enjoy the view above a wonderful waterfall! Earth, please keep your diversity!

What I learned today is the term superstition. All peoples live in this dependence and this embrace. Especially in such nature-intensive areas and countries, as here in Iceland, he is deeply rooted, because man is in a very close dependence on the forces of nature. One tries to explain natural catastrophes and misfortunes and to make understandable. Therefore, a strong religion or a deep-rooted superstition gives hold, liability and explanation.

Today I felt that sightseeing was somehow different. After we left Selfoss, the scenery was filled with different shaped rocks. Rocks that might have been the home for elves or hidden people. Rocks that made roads divert and would prevail over human wishes. Rocks that belong to amazing waterfalls and unique geysers or remarkable gathering places. Rocks that might not be in the Icelandic coat of arms, but are all around the country (the country I've experienced so far).

After being in the book store today listening to the stories Bjorni told us, I just thought about a saying we have in Galicia about Meigas (witches). It goes like this: "I do not believe in Meigas, but they do exist for sure". So, people are really careful when taking decisions about issues where "Meigas" can be involved in some way. I felt Icelanders' believings are pretty similar to ours... Do not disturb nature, neither the creatures living in It...Just in case...
I feel really grateful for what I' ve experienced today. It's not only about Nature, it's about the People who loves It and takes good care of It. Wonderful day!

One more thing, if you want to know more about Icelanders' relationship with Nature, please watch this film:
