I don't think my perspective on how you die has changed over my adulthood because I've watched my great grandfather go through a slow painful process of dying. He was constantly in pain for over a year and when he was given morphine for the pain he started to forget who he was and who we were from being drugged up all the time. I would never want to do anything that could permanently damage my daughter. If I later in my life I learn that me and my daughter share the same views on death then I think I would be interested in assisted suicide. I haven't decided this to prevent myself from pain and suffering but for the reason that I don't want to be remembered as weak and miserable. I also don't want to prevent my daughter from living her life to take care of me for an unchangeable result.
