Living at home with a patient with dementia will have to consider the safety measures and danger that might need to be considered. They need to consider thee choice of the person, their behaviour and ensure that the person needs are being followed up. For example the person appointment, which can be easily forgotten by a person with dementia. They might be at risk when left out in the public. Risk of their own medications, risk of health and daily routine. By Adji Makangila

I think people with dementia should stay at home if they have a family member to look after them 24/7 . Keep them home where they are familiar with the environment and people Plus where it is clean and safe for them . Personal hygiene taken care off.Have a routine in place. Have patience to look after the person with dementia. Have healthy fresh food cooked everyday.

To have them home, firstly you need to have the doctor's opinion if they can be treated and looked after at home. You also need to consider if you have that someone available to always be home and assist, if you want to have them at home, or see if you can afford to hire professionals to take care about them at home.

How the person used to structure his or her day…. Also, make an appointment to go and see a care home if that is what the family would like for the patience

When considering whether to put a person with dementia in a care home or keep them at home, there are several factors to consider. It's important to assess the person's safety, their level of care needs, and the support available at home. Additionally, their preferences and the impact on their quality of life should be taken into account. It's also crucial to consider the caregiver's physical and emotional well-being, as caring for someone with dementia can be challenging. Ultimately, the decision should be based on what will provide the best care and support for the person with dementia and their loved ones.

Its better if u have a professional career for them so they take good care, while you are working. In this way you can check if they getting better assistance and good health security in the environment they used to be. They can socialise with the community where they spend their life.

It’s most common in older adults, with Alzheimer’s disease being the most known type. Dementia symptoms gradually get worse over time, affecting a person’s independence and quality of life.

1. Safe Environment: Maintain a familiar and secure environment for them.2. Routine: Stick to a daily routine.3. Easy Activities: Use puzzles, music, or pictures to keep children interested.4. Clear Communication: Use simple, slow language.5. Self-Care: To prevent burnout, take breaks. Depending on needs and family preference, the best care options are frequently in-home care from qualified experts or specialised memory care facilities. misbah shams

You can build quiet times into the day along with activities. Objects and photographs around the house can help them feel more secure. You can help them with thier daily activities like eating , bathing , dressing ,medication. you can also spend more time with them by communicating and listening to them.

To care for people living with the dementia. The environment should be consider suitable for the person. However, I will suggest the dementia person should be taking to a care home where she can get good care like some care home have supermarket, film house table tennis and this will make them feel belongings

I consider that people with dementia need to see familiar faces and be with their family, but in the same time, I think that they also need a professional team that knows how to help whenever they are having a crisis, a professional team that knows how to manage potentially dangerous situations. Members of the family can have classes to gain experience in this field and help more their loved ones.

In my opinion Dementia has multiple levels. So, if the Dementia level is advanced, I would place the individual in a special care environment just for everyone safety, even if it is a sad decision to make. If there is an incipient Dementia, then the individual can be looked at and caring about at home, in their own knowing environment. Gabi

There is no right or wrong decision for the best place for them to live as this is personal choice and often dependent on the severity and the support available to the service user. This is because caring for service users with dementia can be incredibly challenging and both physically and mentally.

As they say, there is no place like home for a better leaving but things can get tricky with the way modern world is leading .. home could be ideal if there are the necessary means to take care of our loved ones, same as care homes if it’s assessed enough.
