In this book, Emily is going to dance class and is very excited. When she get to dance class though it is a different story. Dance class was not anything like what she had thought and the class is even dancing to a song about a bug. Eww! After a few classes and being disappointed Emily decides to bring a treat to class that all of her fellow dancers would enjoy. JELLYBEANS! Anna who likes to read showed the girls some bug books with cute bugs in them. Nicole who loves sports taught the girls exercises. Bitsy who loves art, helped the girls make their costumes. Finally, Emily who loves dance helped the other girls practice their dance. After all this, it was time for the recital. Before going onstage, Emily became afraid and forgot her dance moves, but the other girls helped her shake out her nerves and they went onstage and performed excellent. After all of this, the girls decided to go to their favorite candy store and got Jellybeans.

Beatrice Doesn't Want To

In this book, Beatrice goes to the library with her brother,Henry. She does not want to be there. She keeps bothering her brother she wants to watch him work, sit in the big comfy chair, until she gets bored, and even wants to follow him while he finds more books. She wants to hold them, but then says the books are too heavy. Henry has had enough and has an idea when they are going to get a drink of water when he sees a poster that says the librarian is going to be reading a book. Of course she did not want to do this either. When the librarian started reading Beatrice said in her chair and stared out the window until she heard something that she found interesting in the book, "Albert Mouse had new roller skates". Beatrice loved to roller skate. The book reminded her of the time that she had roller skated in the house, which made her laugh. Beatrice enjoyed the book so much that when she was done reading, she asked the librarian if she could borrow the book. She looks at all the pictures and when it is time to leave the library, Beatrice doesn't want to.

In this book, animals are doing funny things. Dogs are wearing sneakers, pigs are wearing hats, Siamese cats are wearing dresses, and sheep are taking showers. Moose don't go bowling, hens never swim, roosters do not work out in a gym. and skunks don't ride scooters. Beavers are skating, frogs are taking cabs, cows are dancing, yaks are skiing, and bees are baking honey buns. Fish don't eat bagels, penguins don't teach, and rabbits don't sunbathe. Mules are painting pictures, ducks are riding bikes, and racoons are taking a holiday hike. In the end, it was all a dream. What do you dream about? What other funny things do you see animals doing?

If you take a mouse to school, he will do all kinds of silly things. Everything that he does has an effect on what is going to happen next. Each things becomes more and more silly. If you take a mouse to school, he'll ask you for your lunch box. When you give him your lunchbox he'll want a sandwich. On the way to the lunch room he'll see some building blocks. He'll build a little mouse house and make some furniture out of clay. When the bell rings he'll run out to wait for the bus. While he's waiting, he'll play a quick game of soccer, then he'll ask to shoot a few baskets and do a little skateboarding. This book is so silly because mice would never be able to go to school with you.

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

If you give a pig a pancake, he will take over your house. If you give her a pancake, she will want some syrup to go with it. Then she will probably get sticky and need a bath where she will ask you for some bubbles. When you give her bubbles she'll probably ask you for a toy. When you give her a rubber duck, she is reminded of home on the farm and get homesick, which will make her want you to go too so she will go through your closet for a suitcase. Doing this she will make a mess of your clothes and even find your old tap shoes under the bed. Because of this, she will want to dance and have you play her a song on the piano. At the end of doing even more silly things, the pig will ask for another pancake. This book shows that every cause also has an effect, which is something that Laura Numeroff is famous for when writing her books.
