 The building belonging to one of the prominent families of Uşak, known as Kaftancızades, was used as headquarters building during the War of Independence.  received together.  Although Commander-in-Chief Trikopis was a prisoner, he was welcomed by Atatürk with Turkish hospitality.
 The building, which was expropriated in the mid-1970s, was opened on September 1, 1978 as the Atatürk and Ethnography Museum.

After 1071 the city was changed between The State of Selçuklu and Byzantium.After the coollapse of this state,Uşak was the land of The Ottoman Empire. The city became a city center in 1953 during the Rebuplic of Turkey.
