It is a point against a lever that is placed to get a purchase, or on which it turns or is supported.
Where would you find them?
SeeSaw, bike and Wheelbarrows.
What do they do?
When you move the fulcrum away from the effort force and closer to the load, you are pushing on the lond end of the lever, so it requires less effort.
