It feels great. Sewing makes me feel more connected to Inuit culture especially when sewing in groups. Also, in this class we sew what we can use for our practicum, so sewing is a great thing in this class.

Making something out of my own sewing supplies for kids to use in the daycares is a proud moment as, not often I get to sew to other or when I finally sew, I don’t know who to make it for or who to give it to. The sewing we did, I hope we will at least bring them to the daycare we will work at.

It’s important for kids to play with toys that reflect they know because it’s important that they don’t forgot our culture and it’s also important because they will need to teach the younger generation when they grow up.

It feels amazing to create something for children using my own sewing skills, as I reconnect with my ancestors who made their living sewing clothing for all seasons.

It is as important for them to learn our culture as when we are still learning about it, they are too as their mind grows, especially for little girls when they are young so they’ll know how to make clothing for family when they get older.

How does it feel to focus on a cultural skill (sewing) as part of your class work?

Focusing on a culture skill as a part of class work it feels great, and as a class we are supportive and helpful. It motivate me more on sewing.

How does it feel to create something for children using your own sewing skills?

It feels great on sewing skills in class and to show the children on how to sew at early age so they can have the skills on getting better to sew along the way.

And let the children know that this is our culture and some animals is we know on our land.

How does it feel to create something for children using your own sewing skills?

It is great on sewing skills in class cause its a great way to show and let the children learn on our culture and the animals we know on our land.

You will get to tell how the sewing in the past since the beginning and the animals our land has been in our lives to eat.

It is important for the children to play with the toys because their brain is growing and still managing to learn. Children always watch their parents when the parent is doing their chores such as putting away the stuff that they used and so does the children can put away their toys.
