Each square has a different characteristic of a fluent reader. This will be done in pairs. The first student must read a passage and if they accomplish one of the things on the board they can put either an x or an o in that spot. Then the next student will read the passage and put their letter on something they do correctly. Who ever gets 3 in a row first is the winner.

This is where students can use the computer or tablet to play a blending word game online. They will pick 2 different players. One player is the digraph at the beginning of the word and the second player is rest of the word. Then the players run into each other until the word is blended together to create a real word.

The teacher will them tell each team to spell a word and the first person must spell the word. The next person can keep the word the way it is or correct it. Then the next student can correct it and so on.
