Kuklinski grew up in a rather rough environment, where his alcoholic father constantly beat him and his brother, Florian. Florian suffered from a devastating beating from Richard's father and he passed away. Richard grew older holding hatred and resentment towards his father, and his urban living conditions drew him into a life full of contract killing. In 1986, Richard was arrested and while incarcerated, he shared his testimonies and stories of the murderers he committed, while taking pride in what he had done. He claimed to have killed at least 200 people while working for various mafias and crime families. Authorities have only uncovered information on five of his victims. However, in the midst of his dark career, Richard was considered a family man with three children and a wife, which makes the story all the more mysterious and "chilling." While walking through an alley one night, Richard struck Lane with a pole multiple times before killing him.
