What I am about to share with you was actually inspired by a teacher on our campus. While working as a 4th grade teacher I often (at least once a week) had students write a compliment on a sticky note to one another, particularly if there had been any sign of contention displayed. In the meantime, I would ensure everyone received specific compliments. Sometimes that meant that I would write down a compliment to some of the students on a sticky note. At the end of the day I would read these compliments outloud to the class. I would collect them in a jar and when the jar was full the class would earn a party. Now that I'm the title I teacher and have less time with students, I only do this activity a couple times in the year. It really helps build a unity among classmates.

Leah
