This paper analyses ideas around students' understandings of chemical reactions, which is the focus of this lesson. Energy changes in chemical reactions is an abstract concept that many people continue to struggle with past Junior Cycle. In my lesson, I have a large focus on the areas in this paper which have been highlighted through research as 'problem areas' for students.
