         <description><![CDATA[<div>Here's one of my favorite concepts offered from this week's reading that I think clearly explains the dual nature of blogs as a new literacy. Blogs are both simple and complex. They are <strong>“simple because they share some of the characteristics of paper-based texts</strong> (such as typographical conventions, spelling, paragraph, layout, and so on) and <strong>complex because of the capabilities offered by the hypertext”</strong> (p. 168).</div>]]></description>
