Funding is a major issue within P.E. programs and technology is not cheap. My question is how are we as educators going to incorporate basic technology in our classes? Or get the appropriate funding for new technology in the classroom

Well, I'd start with fundraisers or showing the school board that they need to budget in technology for P.E.. But, when you think about it many students (depending on their age) have smart phones. My niece is 9 and has one. There are so many apps out there (BMI, Water calculator to keep you hydrated, My fitness pal, heart rate monitors, etc) that you could link in to and keep track of the important things. Just a thought!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGz1-HPzKWo

There are several ways to include technology in PE it just requires some extra research. Even using a quizlet or powerpoint would be a good way to bring technology in the class. I remember being assigned to use myfitnesspal for a week in high school.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffrr_DrAY4E

It is hard to incorporate technology into the PE setting but apps/ games are an easy and free way to get the kids involved. Using Kahoot would be fun way for you to quiz the kids over understanding that would cost you nothing with the use of a smart phone. https://youtu.be/6QsjJPENK78

Funding for a PE classroom is difficult so using basic technology is a must. One very helpful free piece of technology for any classroom including PE would be youtube. There are so many fun videos to teach your students how to perform a certain skill or even how not to. Here would be a fun warm up video for an elementary level class.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oejgTGo-BCc
