The students had to go to each poster and copy down the quote then describe what it meant. I feel like Erica took the truisms very literal. She does talk about happier things in this journal entry. I do see that talking about when she was rapped is a common topic when she is writing. I can see this as a positive thing because it helps get emotions out. She talked about her emotions during this time. The students had a week to write this essay so they did a rough draft and revise and editing. This improved Erica's writing. The students were suppose to use 10 prepositions. For this activity I felt like Erica wrote more about an experience that she had with her family, rather than the map of the camp on the other side of the page. Erica goes into really personal things when she writes. She once told me that she enjoys writing because it helps her escape whatever going on. I was proud of Erica for being able to correctly identify the subjects and verbs. The sentence she created was also correct, there was just a few words misspelled.
