Many artists put meaning behind their pieces and share it with people to spread a positive message. Art is a sense of communication and allows people from different cultures to influence society based on their background. For example, when people travel around the world to different countries, art shows them the background and meaning behind the place. Art shows and influences people to respect the place they are staying in. 

We use art in religion to create a deeper meaning of what we believe in. Art is a way of bringing people together and it creates values in our community. Last summer, York Region Police had a Youth Poster Contest where any youth from grade 7 to 12 can create a poster that spreads awareness about an issue. For example The Black Lives Matter Movement. There was a $200 cash prize for the youth who were creative with their piece. This was a way for young people to use their creativity to spread awareness around the community.

I moved houses which gave my family and I a fresh start. We only moved two doors down which may seem nice but it was definitely hard at first because I could see the backyard I grew up in just from my new bedroom window. However, this new house had brought a new chapter and new memories to come. We now have a bigger backyard which allowed us to build an ice rink. This is really exciting especially because my hockey season has been canceled due to covid.  Going back to highschool was definitely challenging at first. I was really nervous being in a new building but was so excited to meet new people. I went to a pretty small elementary school and grew up with the same, one class throughout every year. I didn't have many options with the friends I made so being at highschool was very exciting. I've met some great friends this year and got closer with my old friends. Back in April, I started a job at a grocery store. It was really hard to juggle work and school so I started to pick art back up. This allowed me to take my mind off things and be creative. The past year, I have experimented with different art styles. In the summer I would mix paints and pour it over rocks to create a marble effect. I just started getting into watercolour and embroidery which is something I have never done before.
