This is because he started protests that influenced many others to follow in his footsteps.
2. Aung San Suu Kyi and Nelson Mandela have many different similarities between them. One of which they both fought for what they believed in resulting in them being punished by the government whether it was house arrest or a life sentence in prison.

1: The best adjective to describe Nelson Mandela is courageous. He is courageous because he faced a lot of violence and adversity but still continued to fight for what he believed in.
2: Kyi and Mandela are similar because they both were advocating for equality in their country and were both arrested by their governments and later made government officials after their releases Something that can be learned from her life is that if you persevere and keep fighting for what you believe in, you can be successful.

I say courageous because of all The adversity he faced and able to overcome almost 30 years in prison to still fight and believe what he believed in.
2. Kyi is similar to Nelson Mandela is many ways. One way Mandela and Kyi were very similar is that they were both put under some sort of arrest because of what they believed in and the fear that they would overthrow the government.

Mandela would be described as influential because he was able to get many people on his side and made a huge change within a society that many people thought was impossible.
2. Kyi is similar to Mandela because she was also an influential character that didn't give up on her goals, just like Mandela. Even after being under arrest for many years, she still fought for her self pride.
By learning about her life, I can see how non-violent protest can make a change and not everything has to turn into war if you do things the right way.

He did not stop, even when he was in jail for 27 years he still found ways to help the community. When he was going to be forced into an arranged marriage he fled to continue his passion for activism and making South Africa democratic.
2. Both leaders fought to make their countries democratic and both were leaders in government with Mandela becoming the president and Aung San Suu Kyi being the state counsellor, but seen by many as the de facto leader. A person can learn from her life that even if you are being locked away, you will always have a voice an can make a difference.

He sacrificed 27 years of his life fighting for what he believed therefore making him very determined.
2) Aung San Suu Kyi and Nelson Mandela both served as symbols for change in government and both fought for democracy in their country. Both sacrificed much of their life in prison or house arrest fighting what they believed in. We can learn that sometimes change doesn't come quickly and sometimes you need to sacrifice everything to get there.

Even though he was in prison for 27 years that did not dismiss his passion, he picked up right where he left off when he was released.
2. They are similar because although the government punished them both in order to get them to stop, it did not stop their fighting for what they believe in. Something that can be learned from her life is that even though restrictions can be placed, such as house arrest, to never give up. Also violence is not always the answer when wanting change for the better.
