Specific: My specific goal for this term is to get a final class standing of atleast a C. Basically my goal for this term is to simply pass my math class.

Measurable: I can measure this goal using the PRF, which shows me my class standing after every quiz, homework, cerebry, and 555.

Attainable: I think this goal is attainable if I work hard, put in the effort and have the determination to reach my goal. Throughout the term I will need to listen in class, take down notes and study well for each and every test.

Relevant: I find this goal relevant because I want to get into Ateneo Senior High School and this means that I have to give my all to ensure I pass all my classes this year. I also generally just want to have a grade that I am satisfied with.

Time-Bound: I think this goal can be achieved as long as I maintain my focus throughout this term. My timeframe is from the beginning of the first term until its end.

I would describe this term as more challenging because it is my first term in Grade 10. I can definitely say that, compared to my experiences in previous years, this term is definitely harder than all the terms in Grade 9, 8 and 7. Despite these difficulties though, I did my best to focus on my SMART Goals in order to achieve my final goal of getting a C. Though some of these SMART goals were harder than others, I think I was still able to fulfill most of them. Here are my comments on each one:

Specific:I think this goal will be achieved depending on whether or not I do well during this final week and during my exam. I did my best for the rest of the term but I think I need to give even more for my exam in order to solidify my grade of atleast a C.

Measurable: I can say this goal was achieved because I was able to use my PRF in order to check the progress of my class standing after each submitted output. From here I saw that sometimes my scores in tests were quite lackluster and so I used this information to know that I should study even harder for the next tests.

Attainable: I think this goal will be achieved on depending on how well I do for the exam. I think I did fine for the first few weeks of the term in order to set me up to achieve my goal but I still think I need to push harder in order to ensure I achieve it.

Relevant: For me this goal is completed because I think I never lost focus on my goal for this term. I always kept my SMART Goals in mind to help me stay focused on pushing myself to achieve my goal. I even found my goal helpful to me outside of school as it pushed me to do my work faster and better.

Time-Bound: I think this goal has been completed because throughout the term I never lost focus, never lost track of my goal. Throughout the term my SMART goals were in my mind and now all my efforts lead up to this point.

most challenging task

For me the most challenging tasks were the cerebrys. This is because they forced you to answer a lot of questions consistently and correctly so that you could finish the task. If you answered wrongly, your progress would be brought back. Sometimes for me it was simply trial and error until I could understand the question presented to me. Despite this though, by keeping my SMART goals in mind, being determined, and pushing myself to finish this task, I was able to finish it even if it was very difficult.

misconception

1. One conception I often see is related to functions.

2.This misconception often occurs when we think, “what is the f beside x”, and “should we multiply it”.

3. I learned about this when I encountered it in one of our homeworks assignments. Here I saw a function and when I saw f(x), I assumed I should multiply f to x. After I submitted my work and I got it back, I noticed that all the items where I did this were marked wrong. To figure out why, I asked one of my classmates whom I knew was good at math why it was wrong and he quickly pointed out to me that I shouldn’t multiply f(x) but that f is actually the name of the function and x is what I should input into the function’s equation.

For me my best work this term was Quiz number 4 where I got a score of 15/20 which for me is a lot better than average. This test score represented the effort I put in for that test. This is because I took a lot of time studying and understanding the topic in order to ensure that when the test came I would know how to answer the questions presented to me. This work stands as an example for me on what I can do if I just commit myself to studying the topics and this is why, for me, this is my best work.

collaborative work

For me, my best collaborative work was reviewing with my classmates before each test in order to ensure each one of us understood the topic well. I would explain to my classmate the questions he did not understand and he would do the same for me. In these situations we helped each other to do well in the following quiz by sharing our knowledge in each topic. We all took part in ensuring everyone knew how to answer the questions. Before we would review together, we would all have questions and doubts about our ability but afterwards we all understood the lesson a lot better because of each of our inputs.
