Let me tell you a story from the The Arabian Nights, which we call Binbir Gece Masalları in Turkish. The Arabian Nights is a Middle Eastern literary work written in the Middle Ages. It consists of the stories Scheherazade told to her ruling husband.
Once upon a time, there was a girl called Tala. This girls father was a man who was rich but then lost all he had because of wrong desicions and then witnessed the tragic death of his wife. Tala thought he had to take care of her family so she decided to find a rich husband. Then she found out that a rich merchant was looking for a wife. The man was someone who had married before several times, but no one knew what happened to his old wives; and that’s why everyone was afraid to marry him. Besides, he had a blue beard and that is why everyone called him Blue-Bearded Mehrdad. Tala was desperate so she decided to marry him and he promised he would take care of her family. At first, everything seemed normal in the marriage, Mehrdad was respectful and seemed to enjoy Tala.

One day, Mehrdad decided to travel and gave Tala every key of the house. He let him use all the keys except one. He told her she wasn’t allowed to open the door at the basement, at all costs. Then he made her promise that, for her life. At first, she didn’t suspect that much, however she started to do so because the curiosity was unbearable. She heard a voice before opening the door, when she opened, she smelled rotten. When she looked at her feet, she saw them covered by blood. In that time she realised the horrifying truth. They were corpses ... corpses of his ex-wives all over the floor.
