This building describes me in such a way of how the whole form is combined of two contrast elements. the image of juxtaposition somehow describes certain part in me. To relate that with my personality , a dominant one which is my strength and weaknesses mixed up together and how i strive in improving myself to become a better person. Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, 2012

Ever since I was a curious boy, my mindset was set in stone. It was to unite people to create a welcoming community. As I grew older, I expanded on my dream as an architect and shortlisted structures that I can use as reference points to one day achieve my goal. The Astrup Fearnley Museet is designed by Renzo Piano. It is located in Oslo, Norway, overlooking a large waterfront site. This building represents what I strive to be, a caring and open person who understands the need of the masses. The building is more than just a museum, it is a place where people can be in contact through interacting with nature, through lake activities, enjoying urban life, all whilst experiencing the magnificent structure.
Further expanding upon my vision, I am a big believer in uniting people agaisnt a common cause where we work as a unit to create a better future. This building shows glimspes of my opinion on the ideal society, pulling people together, having fun, and progressing our society forward through meaningful interactions.
Although my vision may seem collaboration heavy, I also believe in being unique as an individual. In my case, I like socialising within my social circle while maintaining a healthy relationship with the people around me. I see to it that it is my job in getting familiar with them. The museum portrays this well where it has a very inviting environment which expressed by large open entrances into much larger open areas. Although while the concept focuses on uniting different communities together, it breaks social barriers and perception of a 'normal' community. This building resonates in me as it shows the creativity of the community when they work together.

Ever since I was a young boy, I have always been thought to care and learn from each other, regardless of who we are and how capable I can be. Surry Hills Community Centre and Library caters for people with all ages and capabilities. It is a 4 storey building consisting of a library section, a community centre section and a children centre. Furthermore, the building is surrounded by residential areas, commercial areas and an open space for people to gather. Being able to learn from people brings you closer to each other or having better relationship among one another. And therefore this can somehow relate to this site. This library and community centre can only function when there are people to connect with, same goes to my personality. 93 INCREMENTAL HOUSES COMPLEX
Every families like to improve their home by still staying there rather than moving to the new one. For these houses, they are designed to have a empty spaces between to let the families decorate their home by themselves because the houses are belong to them but not the architects. The simple and useful design facts inspired me to design something that need to help or return for humans in architecture but not confused then mix the art and architecture together. The reason why I choose this because it remind me to remember my position in architecture every time. This building present me the most as it is hidden inside the mountain as whenever l meet new people or with stranger l usually show less than 20% of who really so its mostly show how deep inside when they see me next time or they are actually interested in knowing me more . Isolated- from the picture, we can see clearly that the architecture of this building very different from the building surrounding. Don’t mention about the spinning part, even the shape of the building is different. It seems that this building is isolated from the building surrounding. This situation more or less same like what happen to me. I’m an isolated person. I’m always isolated from the people surrounding. I’m the one that choose this path because I like to be alone. No one can disturb my plan if I’m alone.

Transition- its moving (spinning) from time to time. Even though its moving, but it’s not really obvious because it spins very slow. Only if people observe it every time or observe it very careful then they can see that the building actually is spinning. So, what it is related to me? Moving (spinning) also signify a changing, an improvement. Normal people see me I’m a static person. Which means I didn’t change at all. But only a few people that always together with me, live with me that notice that I’m changing every day. That improvement really slow, that’s why they didn’t notice it. Only after 1 semester perhaps they will notice it.

Sturdiness- The material used for this building is reinforce concrete. The foundation of this material is very strong. Like me, I got a lot of problems lately. Really really a lot and every problem are different. But, I keep myself strong and I didn’t avoid or run away from the problems. Instead I try to solve every problem calmly and I will make sure every problem will have less impact to my daily life.
