         <description><![CDATA[<p>The response rate among available participants was 55.23%, consisting primarily of undergraduate students aged 18 to 24 years (57.3%). The proportion of individuals who identified using social media primarily for academic pursuits was 88.58% (82.73%; 95% CI: 78.82%–86.64%). Overall, medical students had higher rates of social media use compared to paramedic and nursing students, although their use for academic purposes was similar. About sixty percent of respondents believe that social networks have a positive impact on academic performance. However, views were divided on its impact on relationships, with almost equal proportions mentioning positive and negative impacts (45% each).</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The response rate reached 79.5%. Within the undergraduate cohort, all participants had active social media accounts, with WhatsApp emerging as the most used platform (96.0%), followed closely by Facebook (70.9%). These platforms are mainly used for communication (85.1%), entertainment (83.4%) and online learning (65.7%). The vast majority (72.0%) of undergraduate students allocate 2-5 hours per day to social media activities and check their accounts 1-10 times per day (54.9%). Notably, an overwhelming majority expressed a desire to incorporate social media into their academic pursuits (94.9%), with WhatsApp being the preferred platform for academic activities (65.1%). A large proportion of undergraduates have a self-reported grade point average (GPA) below 2.9 (46.3%). There is a statistically significant relationship between average GPA and frequency of social media use, with those who use social media less frequently showing higher GPAs. Furthermore, perceived social media addiction was associated with sleep duration, daily living activities, and study time.</p>]]></description>
