Toni Braxton

   At the 2016 BET Honors R&B superstar Toni Braxton made a surprise appearance. Toni honored her mentor L.A. Reid who is now the CEO of Epic Records. Toni did an an amazing collaboration of her #1 hits.Toni also included her sisters Trina, Traci, and Towanda Braxton to sing back up. Toni ended her performance siting on LA Reid lap singing the last stanza of Breathe Again.

Paying Tribute

Jussie Smollet payed tribute to Lee Daniels, co-creator of Empire. He shared his favorite memory. The memory was the day he learned he got the role which caused his quick rise to fame.  Jussie Smollet also shared the best advice Daniels ever gave him.

Definitely a must see. It showed her witty and comedic side. In her short career, the media has only seen her as someone who sings well. However, with her performance on SNL she displayed, what most people call, her weird side. 
     During her performance, she acted out pop and music icons throughout history. In this particular sketch not only did she impersonate Whitney Houston, but she also did Britney Spears and Shakira. She also impersonates well renown actors such as Jennifer Lawrence. This performance gave the viewers of both her fans and fans of SNL a different side of Ariana. 
       SNL is most known for paving the way for actors and singers, celebrities in general, to their true career. A prime example of this is Justin Timberlake. It was these steps that other famous actors took such as Anne Hathaway and Emma Stone. Puth was performing his song "We Don't Talk Anymore" which originally features Bieber's ex, Selena Gomez. In the middle of his performance, Puth supposedly thought it would be funny to say "F*** You Justin Bieber!" Of course, the whole audience that night was caught off guard at the sudden statement. A video was taken and posted all over social media that night itself and created quite the confusion. 
   Puth later made an apology on twitter trying to clarify the situation. He tagged Beiber and stated it was meant to be a joke even though it didn't come out sounding like one. He ended his apology saying he has nothing but love and respect for Bieber and his music, but later deleted the tweets.  Justin Bieber has yet to give an response toward the matter..

Rookie Mistake?
     A lot of people had things to say about Charlie Puth's statement and apology as well. A majority of the thoughts revolved around the fact that Puth was fairly new to the music industry considering he made his appearance singing the "See You Again" tribute track towards Paul Walker in the latest of the "Fast and Furious" franchise,  Fast and Furious 7.  Puth has come a long way since but to attempt to rank on someone of Bieber's level and experience in the industry was not acceptable especially to Bieber fans. 
Even though Justin gave no reply towards the matter himself, his fans and supporters certainly spoke up. 
Puth, as said before, wrote his explanation and apology but took it down later.
