IXL is a great way for students to recognize any weaknesses in their skill level.  IXL can be used across the curriculum, but I use it for Math.  The program allows me to see if there are any skills that I need to circle back to if students are struggling.  All reporting is done in real time and I can assist students automatically.  The program engages the students by challenging them to hit a SmartScore of 100 to master the skill.  Within class, the students turn the problems into a mini competition between each other.  

The second resource I find important is the Learning for Justice website.  Teaching children to be considerate, compassionate and empathic of people's differences is important now more than ever.  Not only does the website help teachers to celebrate everyone's uniqueness, it also helps to impress the importance of internet safety in our ever evolving digital age. Also, allowing for teachers to improve their teaching and understand of social justice issues with continuing professional development & workshops provided by the site will empower teachers to go outside of their comfort zones and really get into the issues.]]> 2021-06-06 11:04:43 UTC https://padlet.com/alyciamanzo/jpv2g1ekoa1crv9y/wish/1587846324 alyciamanzo https://padlet.com/alyciamanzo/jpv2g1ekoa1crv9y/wish/1590922771 Many of the resources I selected could be utilized within my school environment.  The main resource that would be most beneficial for my entire school environment would be the IXL program for grades K-8.  As a staff, we can all sit down and take a look at each grade levels' math curriculum and decide on different skills that need to be masters for the upcoming year.  From there, the students in the school will utilize the IXL program throughout the school year.  At the end of the year, we can compare the students' levels from the start to the end of the year.  This will allow for teacher preparation and planning of specific topics & skills that need to be covered more in-depth the following year.  IXL will allow us to seamless stream our Math curriculum up through the grades for higher test scores and more confident students.

A second resource that would be a fun addition to my entire school environment would be virtual field trips.  In our new Covid world, field trips have become a thing of the past.  These field trips will allow for the students and teachers to break away from the "normal" school day and enjoy an exciting and educational experience.
