Those kinds of medicines are great because they help doctors reduce the medicine or drug damage on the patient’s body organs. Ligands help doctors create those medicines in a very simple way. When doctors need 2 compounds in a patient’s body and the 2 compounds can form a dative bond, the doctors then inject the patients with the 2 compounds at the same time with one needle, and then as the complex compound is ingested, the bond dissociates into different tissues curing several diseases at once.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><strong>How can ligands be used as cancer therapy?!&nbsp;<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>&nbsp;<br></strong><br></div><div>There is a kind of ligand called PPAR which is primarily used to cure cancer in cells. When a cell has cancer specific genes are activated which show the cancer symptoms, and those PPAR ligands along with another substance called RXR, have the ability to activate or deactivate genes in cells, hence when patient starts to have cancer, doctors may inject their bodies with the activated cancer gene with PPAR ligands and RXR which deactivate this cancer gene, and this cures cancer in the patient’s body because cells which used to divide continuously now divide in normal rates. &nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><strong>Comment about other’s work<br></strong><br></div><div>&nbsp;Since I was the first one to add my work to the paddle, I can’t really comment much on my colleagues work, but they defiantly are going to write about one of the medical uses I read about because those uses are generally limited, and this allows me to in way comment about their work. All the uses in which ligands are used for are very simple, yet greatly affect us. For example how ligands can treat cancer simply by deactivating a gene or how it can save a person’s life from poisoning by not allowing the cell to absorb metals. Further into the advances in medicinal chemistry, a one shall notice that ligands have been utilized in the field od medicine  for diagnosis and therapy. Medical scientists have come to a new discovery of a molecule that bind two protein with different affinities to localize cancer tumors without affecting healthy tissues. In regards to prostate cancer, the new  RPS-027 ligand binds to the PSMA, so called "prostate specific membrane antigen, promising to maintain an excellent tumor targeting with protection to other sensitive organs from alpha radiation.          <description><![CDATA[<div> A Liigand in medicine is a molecule that connects to another molecule. which is usually a soluble molecule such as a hormone or neurotransmitter that binds to a receptor.<br> <br>Ligands can be widely used in the Medicinal field. For example, the titanocene dichloride is already being used in clinics in addition to antimetastatic activity and a range of Ru(III) complexes are also being used. There are ways to minimize the toxicity of Gd(III) complexes and therefore they can be safely injected as MRI contrast agents. <br><br>These Ligand designs helps in many ways. Such as directing any paramagnetic ions to be targeted to specific organs. These Ligands can also enable the targeting of  radiodiagnostic (99mTc) and radiotherapeutic (186Re) isotopes. </div>]]></description>
