    The DP core  aims to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills.

    The six subject groups are: Studies in language and literature, Language acquisition, Individuals and societies, Sciences, Mathematics, The arts.

    Majority of the UK universities do recognise the IB DP and have specific subject and grade requirements for each course/major. 

    Therefore, it is important that the parents, teachers, and the counselors help the students start thinking about their future plans and goals earlier than usually the students in Kyrgyzstan do. Because in Kyrgyzstan, students can choose their department right before they register for the National Standardized Test (at the end on grade 11).

    There will be individual sessions with the students starting from G9-10, to discuss possible the values, interests, and goals in order to figure out the best suitable profession and university.

    The requirements might differ based on the country, university and the department.     Each student takes at least three (but not more than four) subjects at higher level, and the remaining at standard level.

    Standard level subjects take up 150 teaching hours. Higher level comprises 240 teaching hours.
