I think this also shows hope because the main character is hinting to change in the future where her family and herself can have a place to stay and not have to move around.</div>]]></description>

She soon becomes disappointed, when the house they move into is not what she hoped. Esperanza, and her 5 other family members are now living in a small yard less red house in Chicago, and her parents claim that its only temporary, but Esperanza knows the truth. She soon becomes weary of what people think, because of the place that she is now living in.&nbsp;<br>Sentence: " I knew then I had to have a house. A real house. One I could point to. They don't have to pay rent to anybody, or share the yard with the people downstairs, or be careful not to make too much noise, and there isn't a landlord banging on the ceiling with the broom&nbsp; but even so, it's not the house they expected. The house was in bad condition, the water pipe broke and the landlord wouldn't fix it because the house was too old. The family have to leave fast and settle in one of the house in mango street. They were excited to move into the house since the dad describe the house is very nice. but the house is not the way the Dad describe it.&nbsp; It wasn't better then their last house bricks were crumbling in places, no front yard, small garage etc. One of the nun from school passed by and saw the girl playing outside and asked the girl "where do you live" the Nun asked.&nbsp;<br>"there" the girl pointed&nbsp; up to the third floor&nbsp;<br>" you lived there" the nun pointed.<br>The girl looked at where the nun was pointed, the nun was pointing at the third floor, the paint was peeling, wooden bars, the dad had nailed on the window so no one would fall out.<br>" you lived there?" the nun asked.<br>they way the nun said it made the girl feel like nothing. The girl nodded, by then the girl knew she need to have a house a real house, one that she could point to.<br><br><br>Theme: Sometime nothing in life  lived up to your expectation.</div>]]></description>

If you're at your lowest, you can only go up.<br><br>&nbsp;I think the most meaningful part of this story is when a woman asked where she lived, and the main character was ashamed of where she had to admit she lived.&nbsp;<br>I think this is very meaningful because it really shows the main characters true feelings and is kind of a realizing reality point. When after she says that's when she knew she had to have a real house because of how ashamed she was. The rest of the story wasn't as much of an emotional turning point as this.</div>]]></description>

My parents moved us around before I even immigrated to the US, I don't like how she doesn't remember past places she lived because I think it means no fond memories were made but I get because I can only remember certain places I've lived at which  have memories I'll always remember to keep going in life.</div>]]></description>
