         <description><![CDATA[<div>Name: Lexus (Lexie) Browning<br>About Student:<br>~Has ADD<br>~18 years old<br>~Academic background<br>   -Had a 504 plan (ILP for Augusta)<br>    all throughout school<br>   -Went to old Lincoln Elementary  <br>     School in Augusta<br>   -Went to Augusta Middle School<br>   -Went to Augusta High School<br>     +Started slowly stopping 504 <br>        plan sophomore year<br>      +Completely off plan senior<br>         year, really struggled<br>    -Best subject was English (due <br>      to love and interest)<br>    -Worst subject was math<br>    -More of a visual learner, it helps<br>      her to see something done<br>      before she does it<br>    -Currently attending Butler <br>     Community College<br>~Non Academic background<br>    -Parents divorced when she was<br>      in 4th grade<br>    -lived with mom and brother<br>     +Went to dads every other <br>        weekend at start<br>     +At one point it switched to <br>        every other weekend and the<br>        summer<br>      +It finally eventually switched<br>        to every other week<br>    -Diagnosed with ADD at a young<br>     age<br>   -Brother diagnosed with ADHD at<br>    a young age as well<br>     +Both had struggles with<br>        learning and staying focused <br>        and paying attention growing<br>        up<br>     +They had things like fidget <br>        cubes or spinners to help keep<br>        their hands focused <br>      +She had struggles with <br>         testing and needed help <br>      +She has trouble and gets <br>         annoyed if she doesn't get<br>         help the way she needs or<br>         wants in at the time she <br>         needs and wants it<br>        (irritability)<br>     +She gets impatient if her mom <br>        or teacher is helping someone<br>        when they said they would <br>        help her, even if its just for a <br>        second<br>     +She has gotten a lot better, he<br>        has gotten better as well but <br>        struggles occasionally <br>     +Both took medicine for their<br>       disorders<br>        #She was taken off her<br>           medicine due to the side<br>           effects<br>         #He still takes his medicine <br>            to this day</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Assessment (Testing) Strategies<br>~Language Arts<br>   -Get one on one with her and <br>     have her take tests orally, I say<br>     the definition and have her say <br>     the vocab word out loud<br>   -Do the test just like how I did <br>     the notes in class, write the <br>     words on the board, tell her she <br>      is taking a test, give her the test<br>      with definitions on it just like <br>      the worksheet in class, read    <br>      her the definition, and then<br>      have her say or point out what <br>      word goes with the definition<br>      and erase it from the board and<br>      have her cross it out on her <br>      paper so she doesn't choose <br>      that word again<br>   -Take a video of myself taking <br>     the test and explain what I am <br>     doing as I am taking it so she <br>     see me and visualize her doing<br>      it herself.<br>      +Have her relate the words to <br>         a favorite book or poem to <br>         help her study<br>~Math<br>   -Let her use a whiteboard to work<br>     out her problems, and keep<br>     track of her work and what she <br>     does (this is more interesting<br>     for her rather than working it out<br>     on pencil and paper)<br>   -Read the word problems to her<br>     and point to each part and <br>     explain it<br>~Science<br>   -Use pictures and have her match<br>    the terms to the pictures (it is <br>    more visual and interactive for<br>    her rather than a test with paper <br>    and pencil) <br>   -Use stories as examples, for <br>     example if the term is <br>     photosynthesis, ask about a <br>     plant in a book, and ask what <br>     process it uses<br>~History<br>   -For characters like kings and <br>    queens, dress up and ask who <br>     I am (it is more visual and <br>     interactive, maybe even use the<br>     same outfits as when I was <br>     teaching it)<br>   -If it is a place, use pictures of <br>    places, and take them out after <br> she picks that place for a name</div>]]></description>
