1. Who is Odysseus?
The main reason why people should know who Odysseus is before reading the story is because they should know his background. For example, who is he, why is he known, etc.
2. How did the act of Odysseus defeating the cyclops effect the story?
After Odysseus revealed his name to the Cyclops, the Cyclops cursed him, but if he never encountered the cyclops, would he have gotten home sooner? Would more of his crewman survived?
3. How did Odysseus travel back to Ithaca?
After escaping Calypso, Odysseus decided to return to Ithaca, but in disguise. He looked like a farmer whom no one knew, this was his advantage. His maid was the first person to find out, and after that, he revealed himself to his whole family. To regain authority as the rightful king, Odysseus put up a contest against the other men on who was better at using the crossbow to shoot the rings. As a result no one was able to do it except him because that arch was made especially for him, and he ended up killing everyone and regained his authority as king again.

1. Why does Telemachus have so many subplots?
- Our reasoning is because Telemachus's existence in the story was irrelevant to Odysseus's adventures, yet he was featured in the story frequently.

2. Were Odysseus's actions at the end justified?
- While Odysseus's actions at the end seemed overly extreme, we question whether it was justified, considering the situation.

3. How did Poseidon's interference with Odysseus alter the story?
- We take into account that Poseidon played a large role in Odysseus's adventures, so we come to ask if they didn't come into contact with each other, how would the plot of the book change.

1.Why were Antinous and Eurymachus the only two suitors that knew how to string the bow out of all the suitors?
-We chose this question because while we were reading, we were skeptical that these two men just happened to know Odysseus, and were the best two suitors.

2. How is Odysseus portrayed in
the book?
- We chose this question because he changed throughout the book and in each book he met different people and all of this had changed his personality.
3.Why did Homer use different books to take us through Odysseus' journey?
-We chose this question because it is a different writing style that isn't commonly used in most writing.

1. Why did Odysseus choose to disguise himself when he returned to Ithaca?
-We chose this question because Odysseus could have just showed up and said that he returned, but he decided not to and keep it a secret.
2.Why did the crew choose to ignore all the warnings they received?
-This question goes beyond just comprehending the story and makes you understand the backstage characters.
3. Is it Odysseus's fault that his whole crew died? Why or why not?
-We used this question because it portrays how Odysseus's selfishness was played upon his crew mates (he basically "used' them).

1.) What was so tempting about the siren song?
If the crew knew it would kill them, why would they want to hear it?

2). Why did Odysseus leave to go on the journey to the Trojan war? The books don't really explain why he went, making it very vague.

3). Why was Odysseus disguised when he came home to Penelope? If it was Odysseus's home, why would he try to hide?

1.) Why are there 23 books and so many parts?
The reason we asked this question is because the Odyssey was broken down to many parts and we wanted to know why and if the different parts of the book broken has to do with the story. We were also confused as to why there 23 books and we think this is a good question because it we think it would answer questions about the book itself.
2.) Why was Odysseus seen as a god?
We asked this question because his when his servants were talking about him, when they didn't know it was him, they spoke very highly of him and said great things. They also did everything he wanted for him and their life was put in danger for his, so we wanted to know why he had so much power and was seen so highly of.
3.) Were the choices Odysseus made valid for his crew or just himself?
We asked this question because when his crew fought the cyclops, about 70 his crew members died. Also in the other battles he fought, a high number of his remaining crew were killed off due to the choices he made. Even thought he got back to his home, was it really mandatory for that many people to die.

1. What was Homers inspiration for The Odyssey?
- We chose this question because Homer's reason for writing The Odyssey might have been more important than what it seemed at first.
2. Why was Odysseus the only character we saw develop? Why did we only see the story through his eyes?
- We chose this question because often times in writing, we get to see many characters develop and their point of view, but in the Odyssey, we only get to know and see Odysseus' opinion.
3. Why did Odysseus earn favor and special treatment from the gods and goddesses? Explain your reasoning.
- We chose this question because it was an unknown topic that applied to our curiosity while we were reading through The Odyssey.

Why does Circe choose to turn Odysseus' men into pigs out of all the other animals?
This is our third top question because it is a really interesting question that makes you think.

1. Do you think Eurochus was right in his harsh critizism of Odysseus?
-The reason we chose this question was because this part of the story demonstrates how Odysseus is a flawed character and how his actions can have such a large impact on others.

2. Why does Odysseus have so much respect towards the two servants?
- The reason we chose this question was because Odysseus being such a powerful and respected forced shows respect to the humbled servants, when he could have treated them like they were nothing. It portrays Odysseus in a new way, being kind, compassionate, and rewarding.

3. Was Oydsseus right in killing all the suitors?
- The reason we chose this question was because we see Odysseus be kind to the servants and then turn around and show no mercy to the suitors, which paints the question on how someones personality can change so fast and completely.
