The U.S. Energy Department is working towards giving $3 Billion to 24 Different Electric Vehicle (EV) sector projects, all to create EV batteries. This is a government subsidy that will boost the production of Electric Vehicles. This Will cause an increase in supply because of a Government subsidy, providing funding to make more resources. Prices for the product will decrease and Quantity Supplied will increase for EV Batteries. People will be positively affected by this because EVs will be more easily accessible to consumers in the future, and with the increase in supply, they will be less costly.

https://www.newsmax.com/Finance/streettalk/biden-ev-battery/2024/09/20/id/1181036/

In Brazil, forest fires have been hitting the Amazon rainforest aggressively, and droughts have struck all different parts of Brazil. In regards to coffee beans, this has been devastating, considering Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world. This impacts the supply of coffee heavily because weather has impacted the farms where coffee is produced. The supply of coffee is down, but the International Coffee Organization expects coffee production to still outpace demand this year, meaning there will not be a shortage of coffee in the future, although the supply of coffee is down. Consumers will be negatively affected because there will be less supply of coffee right now, and suppliers will be negatively affected because there is less supply of coffee as well.

Cyclone Nargis

In 2008 in Myanmar, Cyclone Nargis came through and killed more than 50,000 people. This Cyclone destroyed miles of rice growing land and crops, which significantly decreased the supply of rice, causing the amount of rice to go down. This significantly heightened price as well, given that demand stayed the same but price went down, the new equilibrium had a new price, and quantity supplied also went down along with price,. This affected society greatly because rice supply went down and less people in Myanmar were able to get rice.

It is currently september, and Papa John's Pizza is going to have a deal at the start of October that all pizzas are $3. This is going to cause the demand of pizza to go down currently, because consumers are going to wait to buy papa johns until next month when it costs less.
