A few years later, Elsa is about to ascend to the throne, and the palace gates open to welcome her. When Elsa's abilities are accidentally discovered during the celebrations, she runs away to live alone in the mountains. Anna starts on a quest with the goal of rescuing Arendelle from an everlasting winter brought on by Elsa's unrestrained magic and returning her sister back. Together with her are a funny snowman named Olaf, an ice harvester named Kristoff, and his loving reindeer, Sven.

The movie follows their experiences as they come across supernatural creatures and deal with the difficulties of the freezing environment. In the process, Anna and her friends work to restore the sisters' tense bond and, in the end, save their country.

Elsa's early life probably involved building a strong foundation of trust with her parents, who loved and supported her, even though it isn't stated in the movie. It was potentially a defining characteristic of her early experiences.

Elsa's childhood discovery of her talents as her search for independence. She makes an effort to understand and take control over her talents, but her first setback and accident caused her to feel guilty and in doubt after she accidentally hurts Anna.

Elsa's early troubles  isolated her in the castle and being unable to play with Anna because of her abilities. She wants to connect with her sister but is afraid of what may happen if she does something again and seeing her face. 

Elsa's attempts to hide her abilities and shield Anna from them are a representation of working towards her problem but not measuring up to what she wishes. She grows hiding her skills and controlling the ice and snow, but her forced isolation made her feel lonely and closed-off.

Elsa represents a battle between intimacy and isolation as she isolates herself in the ice castle due to her fear of hurting other people and her urge to protect them. In order to protect the people she loves, she decides to live alone.

As Elsa works to protect those she loves and bring peace to her country, her path toward confidence and self-awareness could be viewed as an example of generativity.

One might view Elsa's isolation and power control as an outcome of her identity struggle. She experiences confusion and conflict as a result of her difficulty to embrace herself and her special talents.

According to Erikson's theory in the book "My Psychology" in chapter nine he stated that age doesn't mean as much as it used to. In the earlier phases of development, age communicates a lot about the developmental tasks of the individual.
