As a parts manager, you need to know what the parts are, in order to keep track of them. The first thing you will do is some research, video watching, and activities on the Internet to learn about the parts of speech. You will record the questions and your findings on a Parts Data Sheet that should be typed on a Word document, printed out, and given to your manager (your teacher).

After you understand what types of parts you will be working with, you will be ready to demonstrate what you have learned during training. You will have to prove that you will make a good parts manager by showing the rest of the trainees (our class) your knowledge of speech parts. You will get in a small group and create a chapter to a parts manual to showcase your skills. Your group members will be determined by me, and each group will be given a specific part to focus on. This should be done in a Prezi presentation. Incorporate things such as the definition, their jobs in sentences, how to use them properly, examples of words, examples of words being used in sentences, and any other facts about that part of speech.

I am sure you know that when your parents take a car to the dealership or auto shop to get it fixed, the mechanics that work on the car need parts to complete their work. The dealership has an inventory of the parts and a parts manager working there, who keeps track of the parts and gives them to the mechanics.

For this webquest, you will be participating in a training program for a dealership that specializes in parts of speech. Just like how cars need parts to work, sentences also need parts to function properly.

During this activity, you will learn and review the eight parts of speech. We'll be using the Internet to learn what they are, their jobs in sentences, how to use them properly, examples of words, and examples of words being used in sentences!

Parts of speech are very important, because without them, we would be grunting at each other like cavemen!

The way we talk and use parts of speech in sentences can be other peoples' first impressions of us! I hope you will always remember the eight parts of speech, since we use them when talking everyday!

If you have any questions, please ask me! I am always here to help!

Have fun and good luck!
