First, make sure when is the pick of the storm season in your country. This is usually from mid-August to late October in accordance with NOAA. Once you know this check if the area where you live is in risk of being flooded. If it is then search for a place that the authority’s use to help people in this situation, usually a refuge, they will take care of you from there on until the storm past. In the opposite case start staking up on food that won’t go bad in a long time. This kind of food is usually in cans and aluminum packaging. Also go by the food at least one month before the storm season. Make sore to have enough for all of the family members or people that live in the house.

 

     Second, protect the property, make sure that the house gets tide down. Reinforce the weakest part of the house. Like for example, the windows wooden ceilings and doors made from weak materials. Then place your car in a place where it cannot be damage by any flying object. This can be in the garage or in the case that there is non as close to the house as possible.

 

     And finally, will the storm is passing by try to stay calm and don’t be alone. If you live alone once your things are safe and protected go to a family members house ore bring one to yours. This way the both of you can calm each other down. And distract each other by playing games.

 

     These steps will help people take better care of their homes and lives. Also, these steps should be followed by everyone. Cause we can’t escape the storm but we can prepare for it. This way we reduce de amount of damage and lives lost to storms.
