         <description><![CDATA[<p>Ali and Alie </p><p>Audience: </p><ul><li><p>People interested in events happening now </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>General Public </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Purpose: </p><ul><li><p>To inform the public about current events happening in the world that are effecting certain people, factors in the world. </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Language and register:</p><ul><li><p>Formal tone, because speaking to a general public means different people whether it's friends, government officals, teachers and mentors, which requires a formal tone and advance level of language </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Conventions: </p><ul><li><p>Starts with a headline ( title of report)  which has to be interesting to captivate the attention of the readers</p></li><li><p>Under it should be the byline, which includes: date, place and the author who wrote it, proving more information that helps understand more the events discussed in the report</p></li><li><p>A lead, or hook that includes the 5 W's </p></li><li><p>Explanatory paragraph, explaining the event or whatever the report should be talking about in detail</p></li><li><p>A wrap up, concluding the report ending in a quote or catchy phrase</p></li></ul>]]></description>

Purpose</strong></p><p>To inform : the main goal or purpose of a news report is to inform people about a certain event, objectively.&nbsp; Sometimes the purpose can be to engage , as the headlines are usually designed to capture the attention of the reader.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>3. Language &amp; Register</strong></p><p>Formal &amp; neutral tone : Avoids slang, personal opinions, or any emotional language.&nbsp;</p><p>Objective : Uses third-person pronouns ( "he," "she," "they") and avoids "I" or "we."</p><p>The language must be as Concise and clear as possible. Such as&nbsp; Short sentences, and straightforward vocabulary.</p><p><br><br></p><p><strong>4. Key Conventions of a News Report</strong></p><p>Headline&nbsp; : Short, seek the attention and summarize the main point.</p><p>Byline : The journalist’s name and sometimes their position&nbsp;</p><p>Lead (1st paragraph) : Answers the 5 Ws (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How) in a clear&nbsp; way. HAS THE HOOK THAT CAPTURES THE READER’S ATTENTION&nbsp;</p><p>Body paragraphs :Provide details in order of importance (inverted pyramid structure).</p><p>Quotes &amp; sources: Includes statements from experts, to&nbsp; add credibility.</p><p>Factual accuracy :Information must be verified and is not based on bias.</p><p>No personal opinions : Journalists avoid inserting their own views.</p><p>Past tense : Reports events that have already happened.</p><p>Short paragraphs : Easy to read and scan.</p>]]></description>
