One thing that we have not covered very much that I would like to more is how In the future, I as their teacher, can work to help students who have a passion for music or who show the potential to be very musically talented pursue that or how to encourage them. We have discussed a lot about how to incorporate music into the classroom, which I have absolutely loved, but maybe discuss a little more on how to help students individually with their musical interests.
-AS

I am in the unified early childhood education program, and I am interested in how to incorporate music with physical activity, but I want to make sure I keep the class under control at the same time.
-AD

I am also unified early childhood and I think music would be a really beneficial tool for me to know how to incorporate but I want to make sure it's age appropriate.
-MB

Everything so far has been helpful/interesting.
Being a UEC student I would find songs with hand/full body movements for preschoolers and toddlers most helpful.
-BS

I would really like to know what music works well with which age groups. That is something that would be extremely beneficial. I know, that, in one of my lessons, it was pointed out that the song “Baa Baa Black Sheep” might be too simple for the third graders. Given the concept that I was teaching, why wouldn’t we want a simple song if we are introducing a new topic? :)
-BH

I think that one thing that I would like to talk about would be how to avoid getting burnt out in your first few years of teaching. I always hear that the first few years are the most difficult for new teachers because you are building what you want your classroom to be and you are having to make a lot off different lesson plans because you don't already have a set of lessons that can constantly be reused. So, I think that would be something that might be nice to talk about, just how to deal with all of the stress and expectations of you as a teacher and what some of the issues that you may encounter with that in your first few years may be.
-AB

I would say one of my biggest fears thinking about my first few years of teaching is loosing control of my classroom. Even during my practicum each week sometimes my teacher lets me lead a math center with a small group of Kindergarteners. I often get nervous and feel that the way I am giving instruction and attempting to help them complete their work is not beneficial or "correct". I guess one thing I am wondering about is what to do when all of the tips and tricks don't seem to work. Are there times where you feel stuck and do not know what to do when dealing with classroom management after you feel you have tried everything?
-GR

I am having trouble coming up with something I would like to learn about. I have read through other posts and one thing that stuck out to me was knowing which music to use with what ages/grades. I have a general idea because of my kids, but I can only use them as muses for so long. It would be nice to not have to rely on my kids for choosing the correct music.

-EV

I agree with some recent posts about wanting to learn more about teaching toddlers music. I am in the Unified Early Childhood program as well. I think 2-5 year olds love dancing and really connect with music. I would love to learn about basic activities that toddlers can learn from. I love everything I have learned thus far; however, I do not see myself teaching above 3rd grade in the future.

-MGB

One thing I would really like to learn more about this semester is how to create learning activities in other subjects using a variety of instruments. I think children are very intrigued by instruments and it would be a great way to engage them. I'm sure there are ways to incorporate them in others lessons but I am unsure exactly how to do this.

-RW
