Hi my name is Andrea and I am proud to be the appointed School Games Organiser working with primary and secondary schools in Dartford.

My role, as well as my colleague Julia Youens in Gravesham, is to introduce, support and work alongside local primary and secondary schools within the School Games programme.

The School Games focus is on bringing positive and meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people through sport and physical activity.

As a School Games Organiser I have a particular focus based around the PE and Sport Premium funding your school received to assist in putting physical activity and school sport at the heart of schools. Providing young people with the opportunity to enjoy and learn through competition to achieve their personal best.

What is a Padlet ?

Padlet is an online digital platform which enables us to create a single or multiple walls that are able to house all the information we wish to share with you. From videos and images to documents and audio, it is literally a blank slate. It is collaborative, too, allowing us to directly involve others in the work that we do.

This is an aspect we hope to evolve other the next few months. Meanwhile this dedicated area to you as Parents, Carers and Governors will highlight and introduce you to the work, events and resources that we are delighted to support your schools with as the School Games Organiser.

The padlet will continue to grow and seek your input into some areas of our work where you are pivotal to some of our vision and aspirations for all our young people involved in the School Games Programme. The great thing about the School Games it is FREE for all schools and their pupils to be engaged and involved.

We will notify your school of new posts that apppear on here specifically for you in order to keep you up to date with the latest School Games opportunities and initiatives.

Elf Fest

Created for Dartford & Gravesham schools to use within their school day, Elf Fest encourages young people to get active using the theme of Christmas through fun games and activities. It also highlights and teaches the importance of being physically active to help keep our mind healthy too.

Great news this idea is also being used across the whole of Kent with other School Games Organisers.

Youth Personality Questionnaire - January 2024

Young people have complex relationships with sport and physical activity based on their unique personalities and experiences.

To help us create the right opportunities for young people we first need to understand what sort of activities they would like to take part in.

They use both their heads and hearts to make decisions.

To encourage them to get, and stay, active we need to

understand how they think and feel about physical activity.

Young people need more than kits and competition –

they want to feel good about themselves and have fun

getting active with people they love to be around.
