I didn't go to Kubah, but I took photos around UNIMAS. In my opinion, UNIMAS is diverse with faunas just like any other national park. During the search for wildlife to photograph, it was very challenging because, the moment I set my camera the subject flees and the moment the subject is posing for the picture, my camera is not ready or the image is out of focus. Other than that, the images lighting is a litlle difficult to balance. Most probably because I only use phone camera and there's not much setting to be done to improvise the lighting. But i realize that I pay more attention to details in photography rather than just taking the image randomly as before learning in the class. It was an interesting experience.

59999Few things which I have learnt after going to Kubah National Park :1. Managed to see different types of frog species in Frog Pond which basically taught me to appreciate the existence of flora and fauna.2. Discovered various types of flowers and insects. The varied wildlife includes butterflies, kingfisher, ants and many more. In Matang Wildlife Centre, we saw many wildlife animals such as orang utan, crocodile, deer and etc.3. Appreciate the nature.Kubah is mostly covered by mixed dipterocarp forest, but it also has one of the widest selections of palms and orchids.4. Hiking. To me,hiking was a good way to escape from reality. I even started having passion towards hiking activities and love for outdoor activities.

Kubah National Park is a fantastic nature environment and enjoyable day trip for me. Situated on a small sandstone plateau, park boasts crystal clear streams and a host of small waterfalls and bathing pools. It also mostly covered by mixed dipterocarp forest, but it also has one of the widest selections of palms and orchids. I saw varied wildlife such as bearded pig, mouse deer, black hornbill and many species of amphibians and reptiles. Although, I went without a DSRL Camera I managed to take pictures by using the skills teach in classroom practically through my phone with a great settings. I enjoyed my outdoor activities compare to classroom learning.

I didn't go to Kubah National Park but went to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre instead and what I experienced from my trip is how difficult it is to look for a subject. Secondly, keeping quiet, steady and quick without frightening the creatures when taking pictures is a tough job too. However, I find wildlife photography very exciting and fun ! Besides gaining a new skill, I also got to appreciate the beauty of the various flora and fauna we have in this country.

It was fun, and I think Unimas is one of the most beautiful University in Malaysia. I hope one day I could make a trip outside from Unimas and take a good photos there

For the assignment, I went to different national parks and nature reserves: Kubah National Park, Matang Wildlife Centre and Samajaya Nature Reserve. During my time in Kubah National Park, I was expecting to encounter a lot of wildlifes but I put my hopes up too high. There wasn't many active wildlife that day that I can spot and the weather was not promising. I had came to realise that wildlife photography is indeed challenging as nature isn't always on your side. Another challenge for me is to set the lighting while I was photographing at different times and places. Setting my camera to the right focus is still difficult to me but I am trying to improve my skills. Overall, it was a very good experience to indulge myself in nature.

I have taken pictures all around UNIMAS and also in Samajaya Nature reserved. First of all, the on field experience was different from expectation. Sometimes the natural lighting keeps changing making it harder to set the camera setting. As for the subject, some insects keeps moving and won’t stay in a same place for a long time. Thus, I have to act fast to capture the photo that I want. I believe that with more practical experience, I will be able to improve my skills of using the camera.
