"Most people resist change" (p. 237).
In American history, one of the greatest areas in which change has been resisted is diversity. In 2021, American schools are still highly segregated (https://www.epi.org/publication/schools-are-still-segregated-and-black-children-are-paying-a-price/). In your opinion, what is the role of the modern educational leader in fostering a school culture that evolves into acceptance of demographic and intellectual diversity?

"If you are serious about getting better, you must be fully committed to considering new ways of running your business" (p. 241).
The benefits of technological advances in schools are undeniable. Technology promotes inclusion, development of digital literacy skills, and exposes students to globalized learning that extends beyond the confines of the school building. There exists a proliferation of online schools and COVID-19 has forced teachers to develop new modalities of instruction. However, there are also numerous challenges presented by emerging technologies. How should school and organizational leadership weigh the benefits of technological advancement with the risks and develop an organizational culture that utilizes technology effectively and efficiently?

"Tastes change. Habits evolve. New expectations develop" (p. 253).
Businesses are competing in an ever-changing marketplace that requires a skilled, agile workforce. Simultaneously, the desires and interests of students are evolving. Whereas traditional CATE education addressed sectors such as auto-tech, cosmetology, and horticulture among other areas, there is an emerging need to explore 21st Century career pathways such as mechatronics, video game and software design, and health sciences. How should school and organizational leaders contribute to the discussions about emerging pathways and ensure that their schools/organizations are preparing students/workers for success in the 21st Century workplace?
