1. Which types of mentor texts did you engage with this week? Which one was the most interesting to you? This week I engaged with two non-fiction mentor texts, one from Barrack Obama and one from Greta Thunberg. The one that I found the most interesting was the Greta Thungurg one as in the video she is a young girl similar to my age with such knowledge on the harm that we are causing to the planet and how it can effect our future.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? The text type made me think of how I am possibly contributing to the harm of the Earth just from simple day to day things that I don't think much of, when someone similar to my age at the time has such a different perspective on how they view the world and tries to educate others, having a greater impact one people similar to her age to help by not contributing to harming the Earth for our own future.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? The text made me think that what if everyone doesn't take action in helping and how long it will take for the damages done to be irreversible.

1. Which types of mentor texts did you engage with this week? Which one was the most interesting to you? This week I engaged with a podcast. The podcast that I decided to watch was a Joe Rogan podcast featuring guests who were very knowledgeable about AI and what kind of dangers it possesses in the future.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? During the podcast, It dove into how you can easily bypass simple systems of AI protection protocol simply by wording what you say to make it seem innocent. This challenged my understanding of the future because if the security protocol is so easy to bypass on such simple AI, in the future would it be the same.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? A question this episode made me think of is, If AI can answer questions using its own thinking for bad, when actual robots come into place, will they be able to make such bad choices for themselves as well?

   
   

   
   

1. Which types of mentor texts did you engage with this week? Which one was the most interesting to you? This week I looked at the text 'Eco-anxiety is a normal response to disaster. Denial isn't the answer'. This text was the most interesting to me as it incorporated the use of personal anecdotes in it which made me relate it back to my life and my understanding on the issue of Global warming, and how it has affected me.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? This text expanded my understanding on how important it is to take action. it stated that since the start of industrial times, the global heat has risen 1.1 degrees, and is projected to raise up to 2.5 degrees by 2100. By this year, although not likely but I could still be alive to see what kind of disasters would happen if it did continue at this rate, and certainly my children and grandchildren will see all the effects of it.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? The text raised questions in my head as one thing that I like to do is go fishing, and in the text it stated that she was mad at the fisherman for taking out the fish from the ocean. Because we are from such polar opposite perspectives it made me think if going fishing is actually a bad thing and am I part of the problem to the World.

The form that I chose to use was a podcast transcript. I chose this text type for my non-fiction text as it is usually the way that I like to gather information about something as I find reading about topics a lot more boring, and I don't absorb as much information as to when I watch or listen to something. I engaged with the prompt by talking about the future of AI in real lifetimes with real people. The audience that I am writing for is people who are into the future and AI and want to know more about it and where it is headed. I incorporated the use of humour so that the reader can imagine the laughing/jokes that were said during the podcast. The process that I went through was first started off with a brainstorm of ideas, followed up by a plan and then I just started writing. The text was written in the style of dialogue as all the text comes from the people in the podcast speaking. I decided to use a few complex words while the expert was talking as it gives the readers a view that the expert knows exactly what he is saying. The mentor texts helped inspire me with my writing by giving be some background knowledge and ideas of what I could use for my story. After writing my sectors of dialogue I would get my friends to read over it to see if I had made any spelling mistakes and if they thought the ideas were presented well, I also got the teacher to read over the whole thing when it was finished for extra feedback to see where I can improve.

Which one was the most interesting to you? This week I read two short stories, one fictional 'Wish you were', and one nonfictional 'The Lottery'. The short story which was the most interesting to me was 'Wish you were' as the story related closer to my personal experience with the world and my own personal understanding of the future.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? This text gave me the perspective of how computers/robots will take over in the future, and because we are in a time where AI technology is growing exponentially, it made me have a deeper understanding on the consequences on advancing such a smart technology.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? The text brought to my mind the uncertainties of how advanced robots/AI can possibly get in the future, and with them being supposedly emotionless, how would they convey messages to humans if they have an answer that isn't straight forward.
