This is because they are taught differently, and also because they were born in a certain time where they don't have certain things. For example an old person who was born before phones was invented and entertainment, they would read newspaper and books to entertain them. But for example kids who's born when the phone started to exist then they will adapt to it, so when they're bored or don't know what to do they will use phone to entertain like playing video games and watching youtube or movies. They also have different behavior because in the timeline when they were born it might be illegal to do something thats legal now, or maybe it wasn't very nice to do that in that time. For example having girlfriend when you're still a teenager could be a bad behavior to the elder people because they were taught by their parents differently. Topical EQ: How do groups of people from different generations differ in values, beliefs, and behaviour?
 People have always made fun of 2 very different generations, as the 2 of them are the opposite of each other. I'm referring to the Baby Boomer generation, and the Generation Z/Zoomer generation. The Boomer generation was born from 1946 to 1964, and the Zoomer generation are born from 1997 - 2012. The Boomer generation lived in a world with no advanced technologies yet, and so they spent their time listening to the radio, reading newspapers and watching TV. As they were limited in terms of watching, they spent more of their socializing with everyone around them. They interacted more with their neighbours, friends and family, and did more outdoor activities and exercising compared to the Zoomers these days. As of now, the Zoomer generation are people who spend quite some time on their electronic devices, have unique fashion trends, and overall, have different ideas and opinions compared to Boomers. Zoomers are more relaxed about almost anything, from marriage, to studying, and love to play games. Zoomers care more about the environment, accept differences from others, and are more open-minded compared to Boomers. With these many differences, it isn't a big surprise that most Boomers and Zoomers don't get along very well, as they can't fully understand each other at the same pace. Boomers will compare the present to the past, while Zoomers will keep trying to explain that they don't live in the past now, and now's different from back then. Each generation has their values, beliefs, and behaviours, but to work together well, they will just have to accept each other and work a way to effectively communicate and understand how the other thing, to be able to work harmoniously.

We all are raised differently and we all see things from a different perspective, it is how we were taught as young children and it's always how we perceive the world to be. Generation gaps have their own uniqueness;  Boomers, Millennials, Boomers, and Alphas.  These Generations have taught us many differences between one another oh, it is the reason why we believe and value different things. Many people value knowledge, many people value power, and many people value educations. Theirs, a really big difference to how each generations believes and many more. For example the GEN and Boomers are a total complete opposite to how they function. Another, example is when Boomers believe younger people shouldn't be on their phones to much but younger people can't live without them. With this example alone it really shows the big generation gap to how people believe things differently and not everyone is the same. Generally, Boomers mostly care about the importance of life and not technology and things such as that. But now a days younger people believe in happiness and freedom that's why they choose to use phones and many more for their daily functions and use. Because of this "Big Generation Gap" many people from GEN Z and Boomers don't really have any connections at all. Which makes it harder for both generations to connect during family gatherings, holidays and many more. A person's values, behavior and beliefs can very much vary depending on their generation or what they were exposed to while growing up. These three points end up influencing each other, a person's beliefs affect their values and their values impact their behavior. For example, generation z are raised in a more developed environment, they are exposed to the internet, technology and a much more developed world, naturally their beliefs are going to be different. Whereas the older generation they grew up in a less developed world, because of the environment in which they grew up in, their beliefs, behavior, and values are really different from the other generations. Boomers are pretty strict when it comes to traditions or academics, they care more about how they are seen and well, I guess perceived. From the perspective of a boomer, they expect the younger generation to be, well disciplined, dependable, and obedient, they also value financial success. The younger generation such as generation z and generation alpha, well, the value mental health, emotional and mental stability and overall happiness in general (I'm not sure about others but these are some of my values). By looking at the examples I had provided you would be able to observe that time has had an impact on people, their values and beliefs have changed. Their attitudes are also affected by the two factors (values and beliefs) , boomers are rather strict and want these young adults to be well disciplined, they can also be quite biased in favor of their own beliefs too. EX: when it comes to techs, boomers aren't very capable of it since their generation was full of wars and the technology wasn't good at that time which is why it is difficult for them to interact with technologies. but zoomers, it's a different story because zoomers were born in the generation where people work with technology. so most of the time, if you ask them about techs they can help you with it almost every time already. but when it comes to cultures, I'm sure the boomers are good at it because back then, culture was a big thing, and people strictly need to follow their cultures or else, they'll be punished. for boomers, it's easy for them to say because they're used to it already. but for us zoomers, it's not that easy, because we're not used to it yet, plus most of them aren't open-minded, so therefore if we talk to them about LGBTQ, they'll probably disagree about it since they don't know a lot about genders and sexuality. in conclusion, we can say that the two generations have quite a big gap because both of them are from 2 completely different perspectives. however, we can still create a bond between the two by letting the zoomers teach the boomers about tech and let the boomers teach the zoomers about cultures, this way both of them can switch experiences which can help them to understand each other bit better.]]> 2021-09-19 14:01:07 UTC https://padlet.com/hselateacher/jos4b6nbvxpi1t44/wish/1751742228
