Create a clean slate to deepen learning<br>1: What do you want stduents to be able to know and do? What knowledeg should they be aquiring?<br>2: Unpack how do we usually show our udnerstanding?<br>- use real world context to help with this<br>- show real world uses and usage<br>3: What ways can technology help you get that udnerstanding?<br>4: Break it down into parts<br>- scaffold for success by creating meangingful steps<br>5: The teacher must try whatever it is<br>- teach by doing<br>-gain a general understanding and then allow for class exploration into the tech tool<br><br><strong>Diagrams<br></strong>- Design Thinking<br>- SAMR<br>-TPACK<br><br>SAMR Examples:<br><strong>Substitution</strong>: typing a paper instead of writing it<br><strong>Augmentation</strong>: Instead if printing, do a google doc where many people can add and edit for collaboration<br><strong>Modification</strong>: make the task different, instead of a paper, have them do a multimedia project<br><strong>Redefinition:</strong> the project is now a video interview, use of a tech that wasn't always feasible.<br><br>These are unique to the task being done though, it is not a linear model and it does not have to be done in order. Substitution may be all you can do for this task. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Benefits of Postive Discipine</strong><br>- respect<br>- feeling of belonging<br>- long term effectiveness<br>- builds social and life skills for good character<br>- allows stduents to discover their capability in a constructive postive manner<br><br>Punishment does not breed the correct behavior.<br><br>By nature we have a flight or fight response, when we hit certain points in life, we hit the fight response and that is when we snap at people. Important to create an atmoshere where if stduents hit this point they know they can take time to manage it in a supportive enviornment <br><br><strong>How to self regulate in the classroom: </strong><br>- Postive Time out/Cooldown area<br>         - mindful coloring<br>         - breathing activities<br>         - stuffed animals<br>         - stress ball<br>- Provide them with a task like taking papers somewhere or recycling some stuf so they can have a breather<br>- Having the whole class take 5 breathes to calm down<br>- begining the class with mindfulness so students develop self-regulationskills. <br>       <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Motivational factors:</strong><br>- students need to like some aspect of the class<br>- classroom culture needs to be postive and accepting<br>       ask: how do they feel in the  classroom<br>- The balance of like and respect of the teacher<br>- Work ethic develops from students passion of what is being learned<br>          connection with what they doing<br>- providing smaller goals as stepping stones towards a larger goal to promote that sense of accomplishment early and continually<br>- embracing the fear of failure and perfectionism because it part of who they are<br>           turning those into postive traits <br>           letting them these feeling are okay becasue they feel them for a good reason<br>- Focus more on process and progress not outcome<br><br><strong>4 C's:<br>Competence: </strong>they have to feel it<br>        Can I do it?<br>        Will it work?<br>        Is it worth it?<br><strong>Choice</strong>: freedom=respect=love<br><strong>Consequences: </strong>create culture of a postive consequence<br>   How to avoid negative conotation of consequence: <br>          - work through mistakes<br>          - focus on progress<br>          - help them to be able to handle<br>            their mistakes<br><strong>Communinity: </strong>strong social support and network<br><br></div>]]></description>
