In a part of Edo period (Tokugawa period) Japan didn’t trade with the westerns and traded with China and Korea.
There are ranks, such as Shogun, Artisans, Merchants, and farmers.  Three things I learned about the Edo Period Is that Edo 
period lasted for about  2 and a have centuries. 250 years.  

      A man named Tokugawa Ieyasu won an important war ( battle ) and became a Shogun, ( leader, ruler. ) meaning that he was the one with most power. This was the beginning of the Edo period. 
The place where the Shogun ruled was called Edo. Now we all know it as Tokyo. The capital of Japan.

  Japan was a isolated country and didn’t want any country to enter. Japan didn’t want any western country’s to enter. Japan only traded with the country New Orleans, which is the country located in Europe.

These are the three things I learned.
