   My first impression of the artwork is first Flirtatious Atmosphere, Renoir captures the flirtatious atmosphere of the dance. A man in a straw boater rests his hand on a tree trunk, learning forward, as if trying to gain the attention of the girl with her back against the tree. Almost hidden between them, a seated girl gazes towards a man in the foreground. Second cropped figure in the bottem left corner of the painting a young women sits on a bench talking to a little girl, whose inclusion adds an air of innocence to the scene. The women face is cropped by the edge of the canvas. The crop reflects the influence of snapshot photography and adds to the sense of immediacy and informality. Renoir deliberately creates the impression that this scene is not posed and that this scene is not posed and that it continues beyong the borders of the picture frame.
